Cue the ZOO Tv lovefest and the bashing of anyone who doesn't agree!

ZooTV and 360 are equally tied. Both are innovative, ahead of their time... However, 360 is a monument to U2. The Claw should get a place in the R&R HoF. In fact, it could make an entire indoor U2 exhibit around and under The Claw.

Subject to opinion.

ZOO TV is the reason I'm here.  When I became a fan, I heard bits about it, and my family just moved to a new house so financially we were rather barren.  But I did see the TV special (the one on the Achtung Baby DVD) and it just blew my mind.  I NEVER saw anything like it - so because I was too young and broke to see the concert in person, I did see the Sydney show on PPV about a year later.  I have never seen (before or since) a 'commercial' band more ballsy and creative than U2 in the 90s, so yeah, Zoo TV DEFINITELY gets my vote.

Zoo TV. How has no one said PopMart yet, though? Also, shouldn't this be in the tours section?

As much as I loved ZOO TV and 360, The JT tour was my first experience of U2 Live.  The grueling wait in line all day was well worth it, when those gates opened, that mad dash to get as close to the stage as possible, and being right up close. The first time feeling that electricity was a moment I could never forget.

Popmart.
Unfortunately, my introduction to Zoo and Popm were via dvd, I was too young. I admit my initial reaction was that Zoo was better, but I have watched Popmart waay more.

Zoo TV. I remember standing in line at 5am waiting for the record store to open to buy tickets.  8th row between Bono and Adam.  Incredible opening; unique visuals; changed my life forever.

I was just as excited when Fed-X delivered my 360 tickets.  Very unique visual experience, especially under the CN Tower in Toronto.  Wished for more NLOTH songs but the people I was with liked the greatest hits set.

I liked Pop Mart too.

The touring they did before the Boy album was released. If it wasn't any good, they would never have gotten that record deal.

My top 3 tours.

1. Zoo TV (indoor leg - never will be bettered)
2. The War Tour - first leg (very energetic tour with a great set list. Tomorrow live was awesome with Edge playing the Tin Whistle)
3. LoveTown (set list rotation at its best)

Unforgettable Fire Tour-My First U2 concert, simply the most powerful performance I've seen from them.  Band and audience were great.  What can you say 11' O'Clock Tick Tock, Seconds, UF, Wire, Two Hearts Beat as One, A Sort of Homecoming, Bad, Electric Co. all in the same set and  all performed by U2 in their prime.

The only tour I haven't seen is Lovetown, so:

1. ZooTV Indoor
2. JT Indoor
3. Popmart

Last. 360.

Of the three I attended (Popmart, Elevation, 360), 360 wins because I think it allowed the band to bring together their visually creative flair that only strongly gets expressed in stadium shows with themes that obviously mean a lot to at least Bono (e.g., hope for those who despair, space exploration as reflective of humanity's search for the divine, a sort-of victory lap for ONE [the last one at least in DC]).

Of those tours I've only seen on video, I'd have to say Zoo TV.

My fave tour was The Joshua Tree Tour. Quite simply put, it had the best set of u2 songs to tour with. No fancy stages, it was all about the songs, just as i like it to be
1. The Joshua Tree - raw, honest, straigtforward with few gimmicks.
2. Elevation - a great show, enhanced in significance due to Hamish Hamilton's artistry.
3. 360 - due to the scale and spectactle
4. Vertigo - also great, and I've ranked it above Popmart and ZooTV because I missed seeing those tours. Had I seen Pop, I'd likely have it 4th instead, despite the sheer number of gimmicks and distractions.

I know its old fashioned, but I prefer to see a concert first and then a staged performance second. Ever since Bowie's Glass Spider tour and much of the Madonna events, many big concerts seem more like scripted Broadway productions (i.e. canned and contrived - with little spontaneity) rather than ragged, jagged musical performances.  IMHO, the kitsch of Pop seemed to weaken the impact of the show, even though it was theatrical. A great day to all even though many will disagree.

Without a doubt…Zoo TV’s “Outside Broadcast” I saw U2 during this Tour in 1992 at Legion Field in Birmingham, AL…Public Enemy opened…Awesome concert…This was my first U2 concert…I had to travel 4 hours to see them…the atmosphere, it was an election year…the crank calls to the WH…etc…

The second time I saw U2 was in 2009 during their 360 Tour down in Norman, OK…that was great too…that show was more intimate regarding how the stage was designed…seems like I could see the band better than I could during their Zoo TV Tour…

360 Tour. Why? In Gelsenkirchen Germany on 3rd August 2009 I was very near to the stage. Bono reached for me to shake hands, but he was a couple 1-2 meter too far away...Such a pity. Did anyone take a picture of that incident?

ZOO TV Outside Broadcast... it just blew my mind like no other concert before or since.  It was like seeing U2 reborn into something cooler yet still earnest as ever and without them looking like they were trying too hard.  It came off natural and just so cool. They will never be able to pull off that many new songs at the front end of a show that way again. It was just, in a word, awesome.

I've only been to the Joshua Tree, Elevation and Vertigo tours.
Joshua Tree was marred by bad sound and very cold weather.
I liked the Vertigo setlist more, but I was lucky enough to have gone to one of the New York post-9/11 Elevation shows.

I know I'm in the minority but Popmart is my favorite. I've only attended Vertigo and 360, though.
Very unique visual experience, The boxing match intro, The Lemon, Discotheque.. ah.. love it.

Zoo TV... hands down because it was so DIFFERENT from the Joshua Tree and it just blew my mind. The songs, the visuals, the freshness... it may very well be the first and last HUGE departure from the "norm" by a band that also worked exceedingly well.  We may NEVER see the likes of this again. Think about it.  This doesn't mean their subsequent tours will not be good, it's just that the Zoo TV tour was perfect in its timing and execution with the end of the Cold War, the election of Bill Clinton, the Rock the Vote campaign and just the freshness of the music.  It was a heady time indeed.  I miss it... yet I still have my arms wide open to the future... yet I LOVE this period.  Please, give us a Zoo TV Outside Broadcast DVD / BluRay release.

This is easy. Zoo TV.

There are 10 reasons:

1. Amazing Intro
2. Pranking George HW Bush every night!
3. Zoo TV Live from Sydney
4. Edges wife Morleigh belly dancing on stage
5. Love is Blindness
6. Touring Two new albums with two sets of new material
7. It didn't win any awards so it had street cred
8. U2 reinvented themselves when the other big 80's bands had failed.
9. MacPhisto
10. U2 dominating the world airwaves from Sydney, "going live to the planet tonight so lets hope this sh1t works". What band has had their entire 2-hour concert on prime-time TV across the whole of western civilization since?

20th anniversary of Sydney is coming up, so I expect a DVD release, maybe with additional unseen footage and a montage of prank calls from toher concert shows. The only weakness of the Sydney show was that the prank call was to a taxi company, not the white house!!

Zoo TV was the height of artistry.

First, the idea of traveling with a TV station was and is to this day completely mental.

Second, consistency.  For the most part the U2 set didn't change.  They were supremely confident in their shows.  If you listen back to the first zoo tv show to the last, they just got better and better.

Third- Achtung Baby was so different and so fresh. To play those songs for the first time live?  Forget about it!

The set list logic flowed well, they rocked, they danced through that show. I also believe they had fun as well.  They didnt take themselves so seriously!
