I just turned 35, and my 9th show will be night 2 in Chicago, with number 10 being Pittsburgh.

I was supposed to first see them way back on their PopMart tour in Clemson, but the guy who was going to take me (I was only 16 or 17 at the time) ended up taking one of my sisters as his date, instead. I then tried for Elevation tour tickets in Atlanta, but they sold too quickly. I finally first saw them at night 2 in Atlanta on the Vertigo tour, followed by night one in Chicago and also Pittsburgh, both on the 360° tour; and, then night 2 in Toronto, night 8 in NYC, both nights in Belfast, and then the opening night in Dublin, all on the I&E tour.

That sucks. How come you won't be able to see them again? If it's for a personal reason that you don't wish to share please don't feel obliged to.

Cuz he suffers from a disease called 1-itus. Can only do things in 1's. Sadly, there is no known cure.

That's a shame. My dad knew someone who had 1-itus. I heard that it's extremely rare, but deadly. Apparently it only allows you to live once.

I live in Tasmania which is an island state of Australia. U2 will never come here, it's too small. We saw them in Melbourne on our tenth wedding anniversary, which was amazing.

We have 2 young children with autism who require quite a bit of care so it's hard to travel much. We're also not very financial because neither of us is able to work a lot because we're needed at home. U2 shows are just so expensive and they visit Australia so rarely that I just don't think circumstances will align for us again.

It was a special, probably once in a lifetime night with the woman I love. So I'm ok with that:)

Yes I a count my blessings every day. I married my best friend and we have a fairy-tale marriage filled with love, grace, forgiveness and passion. We have 3 beautiful sons. I am truly blessed.

And, to us, that one show that we saw was such a gift and we knew we were having a once in a lifetime experience. We cherished it and it'll always be a special memory. I think that some people maybe don't fully understand how blessed they are to be able to do something like that whenever they want.

37, been a U2 fan since '87 (age 8!)

Seen one show each on the Elevation, 360 and I+E tour.  Going to see TJT2017 in Chicago.  So 4 shows total.

I would love to follow them around, but between school in the 90s and my job I just was never able to see more than one show a tour.  And the 90s were a complete wash for me.

60 years old. 24 shows. And 3 more coming up this summer: Santa Clara, Chicago... drum roll please...DUBLIN.

Elevation (3): NJ, Chicago, Kansas City
Vertigo (7): Denver, NJ, NYC, Mpls, Milwaukee, Omaha
360 (9): Chicago, NJ, Oklahoma, Winnipeg, Miami, Mpls
I+E (5): Chicago, NYC

I wasn't even really interested in U2 until 2001. I have been making up for lost time ever since. I thought I was "too old" in 2001, but I just keep getting older and I am apparently not too old yet.

I'm 47 and the upcoming June 20 show will be my 11th U2 concert and 12th time seeing them live, including from the front row at the Amnesty International concert in 1986 in Denver. Other shows:

March 17, 1985 - Denver
Nov. 7-8, 1987 - Denver
March and June 1992 - MSG and Giants Stadium
Popmart Tour - RFK Stadium
Elevation and Vertigo Tours - 1 each at MCI/Verizon Center, DC
360 Tour - FedEx Field
I&E Tour - MSG #8 (with the Boss)

Also impressed by the number of young folks on here. I figured most were around my age or slightly younger.

I'll be 45 in a month.
Popmart LA Coliseum
Elevation (spring) Honda Center
Elevation (fall) Staples Center
Vertigo Honda Center
360 Angels Stadium
360 Rose Bowl
I&E Fabulous Forum (two nights)
I'll be at Rose Bowl on the 20th with my husband and 14 year old son. Once upon a time I was a broke teenager who missed the original Joshua Tree legs that came through LA. And in college I was also broke/studying abroad so I missed ZooTV. This is why I never miss shows as an employed adult! 😃

The night of the Dublin concert would have been my late Mum's 94th birthday. She saw Led Zeppelin when she was 56, was a huge fan of Pink Floyd and bought tickets to see Ozzy Osbourne without telling me.I only found out she was there when she suddenly appeared next to me at the front of the stage  :D I'll be thinking of her when U2 take the stage. My love of music came from her. Thanks Mum  :)

I am 48 this week.

I have seen 53 shows.  I met the Mrs. on the WIRE mailing list, from this site, during the Popmart Tour.  So this site will always have a soft spot for me.

Anyway, fun topic!

I'm 25..

Hi All

I'm from Melbourne, Australia.  Unfortunately, U2 did not bring the Joshua Tree Tour ( we got Lovetown) or Elevation Tours to Australia.  However, I've still seen U2 44 times, which includes every tour in Australia, as well as trips overseas to see them in :

1.LA on the Vertigo Tour
2.Amsterdam, Dublin, Montreal, Toronto, New Zealand, Philadelphia, and New York for the 360 Tour
3. New York for the I and E Tour
4. San Francisco and Pasadena for the Joshua Tree Tour 2017  ( CAN't WAIT!!!!!)

I've followed U2 since 1980 and I am a fanatical fan.

I sure do and I haven't taken a single show for granted! Going to multiple 360 shows was one of the best months of my life :D Hope you get to have a similar experience on the SOE tour when it happens! :)

Yes it was - especially as the first week was in Dublin!
At Manchester we went second night and sat next to the late great Gary Speed & his wife.  In 2005 he would have been playing for Bolton Wanderers who were in the Premier League then (Gary Speed was a footballer turned manager).

I'm 50 (but feel like I'm 30 sometimes & the husband says I act like 16 most of the time ;))

May 23, 1983:  War Tour - Portland, OR at Paramount Theater  (First time seeing U2. My best friend & I happened upon Bono after the show with about 7-8 other folks.  He regaled us with stories as well as asked if anyone knew about a lost briefcase of lyrics all while sitting in an abandoned shopping cart behind the theater in the Park Blocks.  It was a high school girl's dream come true and made me a fan for life).

November 3, 1992:  ZooTV Outside Broadcast Tour - Vancouver, BC at BC Place (A good friend & I turned in absentee ballots for Presidential election so we could see U2 in Canada courtesy of the company I worked for at the time.  Bono let folks know from the stage that Bill Clinton was our new president).

May 6, 1997:  PopMart Tour - Eugene, OR at Autzen Stadium  (Miraculously scored 2 front row seats--along with 6 seats in about row 10 for the rest of our clan--in regular sale via the phone.  My husband said I looked stunned & kept asking operator over and over about the location of the front row seats.  Once the Auzten show occurred, I quickly realized that front row for a giant production like PopMart was very difficult when you're 5'2". It was great when the band were at the lip of the stage, but we couldn't see much when they walked back--only saw Larry when they all came out of the lemon).

December 12, 1997:  PopMart Tour - Seattle, WA at Kingdome (It was Christmastime & I remember there was a Christmas tree on a high part of the set.  We were really hoping they'd play "Christmas Baby-Please Come Home", but alas no such luck.  Again scored great seats in about the 20th row on the floor of the Kingdome for six of us via the old phone ticketing system.  Crazy.).

April 15, 2001:  Elevation Tour - Portland, OR at Rose Garden (First time doing GA, and first time getting tickets for U2 via the internet.  My best friend & I only waited about an hour or so then ended up on the outside rail on Adam's side).

November 27, 2001:  Elevation Tour - Kansas City, MO at Kemper Arena (Visiting family for Thanksgiving & mother-in-law gave me early Xmas present of GA ticket to the show.  Show was very emotional in that it featured scrolling names of those killed 9/11).

October 20, 2004:  Oregon World Affairs Council - Portland, OR at Schnitzer Hall (Not a concert, but the chance of a lifetime seeing Bono speak about his humanitarian efforts and participate in a q/a.)

April 24, 2005:  Vertigo Tour - Seattle, WA at Key Arena (last time I ever had an official seat for a U2 show--we were above the stage on Edge's side, but pretty high up.  It was a great show, but we agreed that GA was better).

November 22, 2005:  Vertigo Tour - New York, NY at Madison Square Garden (Convinced family it was okay to spend Thanksgiving with friends in NYC so we could go to the show--so worth the grief we got from both sides of the family.  Had a great spot in GA on the floor of the Garden on the rail of the walkway leading from main stage to b stage.  I remember the Garden gave a a bunch of us on the floor a complimentary glass of champagne.  Very cool).

December 19, 2005:  Vertigo Tour - Portland, OR at Rose Garden (Christmastime again & Bono sang a snippet of "Christmas Baby" and I was thrilled to bits).

March 2, 2009:  NLOTH Promo Tour - New York, NY at Ed Sullivan Theater for Late Night With David Letterman (In NY for a wedding, and we knew that U2 was scheduled for the show.  We put in online for any of the tapings.  We got the call from the show days before our flight, and my husband--my hero--correctly answered the question the Letterman staff member asked about the show to guarantee us tickets.  Our seats ended up being 3 rows from the stage on the side where the band performed--AMAZING!).

October 28, 2009:  U2 360 Tour - Vancouver, BC at BC Place (Best friend & I flew to Vancouver, BC and waited outside all day on concert day in the GA line--ended up close to stage on Adam's side again.  The moving walkway went right over us as Bono sang one of my fave songs "The Unforgettable Fire". Fantastic!)

June 4, 2011:  U2 360 Tour - Seattle, WA at Qwest Field (Won the auction for Red Zone tickets--on the inside rail on Edge's side with the husband.  Just tremendous show on a beautiful day & blessed that we were able to afford it).

May 14, 2017:  Joshua Tree 2017 Tour - Seattle, WA at CenturyLink (Was in GA solo as friends all had nosebleeds--I had better spot and better time on outside rail of Red Zone singing and dancing with folks from all over the world.  Plus, we got "Bad" and "I Will Follow"!).

Here's hoping I see many more U2 shows in the future.  Those of you who have seen them all over the world are so very lucky indeed!

I'm 45. I have seen the following 7 shows:

1992 - Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver w/ The Pixies
This was a hard show for me. I was so used to the Rattle & Hum film. I didn't quite get the "new U2" thing . . . yet.
1992 - BC Place Stadium, Vancouver w/ The Sugarcubes and Public Enemy (!)
A rather strange pairing of groups. By this stage I was a full on fan of Achtung Baby and i LOVED this show!
1997 - BC Place Stadium, Vancouver w/ Smashmouth
This is my favorite U2 show. Ironically, I'm still not sure I fully "get" the POP album - but the TOUR was something else!
2001 - GM Place (now know as "Roger's Arena", Vancouver w/ PJ Harvey
Great, high energy show.
2005 - GM Place, Vancouver w/ Kings Of Leon
It's funny, I didn't think too much of KOL. They were good but I thought "They'll never last" . . . about two months after the show I see them on the cover of Rolling Stone, Mojo etc. . . shows what I know!
2009 - BC Place Stadium, Vancouver w/ Black-Eyed Peas
I loved this tour. Bill Gates was apparently at this gig and Bono had the crowd sing "Happy Birthday" to him.
2017 - BC Place Stadium, Vancouver w/ Mumford & Sons
I thought this was a good show but I didn't quite grab the magic for me . . . The setlist has obviously been discussed extensively. I'm happy to have been at this one. Looking forward to the next tour.

An eclectic mix, very nice!

I will be 35 next month. I've seen U2 six times, my seventh time will be this September.

1. Chicago September 12 2009
2. Chicago September 13 2009
3. Minneapolis July 23 2011 (my current favorite of the six I've been to, my review is here (https://tours.atu2.com/reviews/tcf-bank-stadium-minneapolis-jul-23-2011/13418))
4. Denver June 7 2015
5. Chicago June 28 2015
6. Chicago June 29 2015
7. Kansas City (my hometown!) September 12 2017

I became a U2 fan at age 19 after hearing Stuck in a Moment on the radio in the summer of 2001. I didn't start going to concerts until 2007 (first concert I ever attended was at age 25, I saw Dave Matthews Band in Bonner Springs, Kansas). I regret missing U2 on the Elevation and Vertigo tours.

I have a good friend who doesn't post here but is a big U2 fan also. He's 52 and from Brazil, but has been living in the USA since the 90s. He's seen U2 10 times, going on 11.

1. Kansas City May 19 1997
2. Kansas City November 27 2001
3. St Louis November 28 2001
4. St Louis December 14 2005
5. Chicago September 12 2009
6. Chicago September 13 2009
7. Minneapolis July 23 2011
8. Chicago June 28 2015
9. Chicago June 29 2015
10. Bonnaroo June 9 2017
11. Kansas City September 12 2017

Age 33 - I also frequently comment that people are wanting their money back.

3/29/01 - Elevation Tour - Charlotte
Missed Vertigo and 360 due to being a poor college student
Missed I&E due to them not coming anywhere close to where I live
6/16/2017 - Joshua Tree Tour - Louisville
5/26/2018 - E&I - Nashville (assuming nothing unexpected occurs in the next 2 weeks

I was fully prepared to shed out some serious cash for the I&E tour and still harbor disappointment over the locations.  I live in East TN and couldn't stomach 2 round trip flight tickets, hotel plus the cost of tickets.

I'm 35 and have been to 4 shows:

6/7/01 - Copenhagen (Elevation Tour)
7/7/01 - Copenhagen (Elevation Tour)
31/7/05 - Copenhagen (Vertigo Tour)
18/7/09 - Berlin (U2 360 Tour)

I barely missed the Popmart show in Copenhagen because I had just become a fan and was too late to get a ticket. The best one of the 4 was by far the Vertigo show. After the 360 and NLOTH I have slowly but surely become less obsessed with the band and felt no need to see any of the shows since then.

Here we go...at 47 years old, the memory is not what it used to be:

1985 Houston - Unforgettable Fire (age 14)
1987 Houston - JT1
1992 Dallas - Achtung
2001 Phoenix - Elevation (this was right after 9/11 and was one of the most emotional events I've ever attended. Astonishing)
2005 Denver - Vertigo
2005 Denver - Vertigo (went twice in Denver, and 4 times total on this tour. It's nice to start making some $)
2005 Chicago - Vertigo (wow)
2005 Chicago - Vertigo (super wow)
2011 Denver - 360
2011 SLC - 360
2015 Phoenix - I&E
2015 Phoenix - I&E
2015 NYC - I&E (2nd to last night of tour. Paul Simon, Bill Clinton, et al. showed up for the last night. Dammit...)

2017 LA - JT2
2017 Phoenix - JT2
2018 LA - E&I (in 3 days)

I think that makes 18 times total after this Wednesday night. Seeing them in Ireland is on the bucket list!

I'm 65 and Tulsa was my 38th show.  I won't list them all, but Zoo TV in Washington, DC was my first.  I was so overwhelmed that I started to travel to see them. Philly,
Pittsburg, NYC, Toronto, Paris, Miami, Tampa, Sunrisre (Ft. Lauderdale), Atlanta, Nashville, Seattle, Charlotte, & Charlottesville.  Most shows was for Vertigo Tour (10). Least was Zoo TV and SOI at 2 each. I've been retired for a few years and believe it or not, it's harder to find time in my schedule now to see U2 than when I was working.  Too busy with other travel plans.  Will see my 39th and 40th show in DC.  So if you see an old lady in GA, that's probably me.

47 and 7 shows so far.
One show from each US tour since JT outdoor leg, except for PopMart because I was a poor grad student at the time.
This time (show #8 ) I have GA for the first time and my youngest daughter is going to the show. She likes the 2 most recent albums so she should be in for a treat.

OK, aged 48 and have seen U2...

1984 - Sydney, Under Australian Skies
1989 - Sydney, Lovetown
1993 - Brisbane, Zoomerang
1998 - Sydney, PopMart
2006 - Sydney, Vertigo
2010 - Sydney, 360
2017 - Santa Clara, The Joshua Tree 2017

Highlight was the Zoomerang show, particularly the end with Love is Blindness being played in a tropical thunderstorm to finish the show. The screens were showing a slow moving starfield until everything got turned off and the visuals were provided by the lightning going off above us. Still right up there as possibly the greatest rock show I've ever been part of.
