Hats off to Ms Eddington for another great edition.    Seriously good stuff.

Thank you very much! I was DRUNK on the colors of the e-stage. I can't tell you how much fun I had painting these.

Omg. Omg. Somebody understands.

I died at the vein. I'm dead and I'm no longer functional.

Gorgeous work! I like the little cartoons about winning the Apollo Theater tickets too.

If I hadn't coded at the vein, I would have said some lovely things about Larry and his beautiful drums, Edge's tassles and rips, and all the colors.

But alas I'm dead and it's your fault anyway.

I hope you don't mind but, I googled you! I use to work with artists years, helping them frame the work they did for exhibitions. You my dear girl, are very talented! That brightness of your colours, the capturing of facial expressions. The fine lines of intricate work!

You need someone to promote your work, I'm NOT that person, but I wish the up most success. Trust me, You're really good.

So I've spent the last couple of days wading through the Achtoon back catalog. It occurs to me to say my life is now complete, but that would be wrong, because instead I have new things to think about, so many things. I now have to ponder Tyrannasauri, Easter Island statues, beach balls and water bottles (and I thought I already gave those enough thought, dammit).

I've previously pondered the vein - but I think it's actually an artery, the carotid. A freeway of blood and oxygen and so on directly to the brain that writes (and forgets) the lyrics, controls the lungs and vocal cords, and moves the body in that precise way.

I've also pondered the left hand for a while. I watched him shake it out, wiggle the fingers, clench and unclench it just a few weeks ago. Those movements are only a few years old, and they come from a place of discomfort, and yet they are kind of an addition rather than a subtraction. The left hand shows not only the annoying sensation of nerve damage, but also eloquently shows the intense concentration that is happening.

So anyway, KE, you are both an artist and a storyteller of the highest degree. The visual artist captures the physical world, and you have done that from little cartoony napkin sketches to full on detailed paintings. It's one thing to have a nice looking picture, but to capture a specific human being in detail, that is amazing. We've all looked at these old guys enough to discern, like, hey, that's close, but it's a little off... But your pictures are not off at all, they are bang on in every way. Proportions, body shapes and postures, facial and hair features, etc. And all framed beautifully into a composition of gorgeous instruments and stage sets.

But also the storytelling - if visual art captures the physical world, the stories capture the rest. Experiences, personalities, ideas, wishes, journeys. So it's really not just the pictures, it's the stories. You've put your finger on the pulse of what it's like to be a U2 fan, both the glory of it and the sheer lameness of it. But it's glorious indeed. And if Adam mouthed "me too," well, that's just poetry.

I want to second that regarding your ability to tell stories in pictures! I love the full artwork but the cartoons of your and your friendís experience at the Apollo are soooo evocative, so clever and true! Have you ever considered creating a graphic novel?

Or maybe a graphic version of U2ís story. Iíd buy that in a heartbeat! I guess thereís already a U2 comic book but Iím sure yours would be the best. Plus the existing one came out ages ago.

The paintings and Apollo cartoons are freaking awesome!

Kelly - I share your feelings of the SOE album and concert.  As I am getting older and starting to experience old guy ailments (I've hit my first), the concert was a bit overwhelming.  I wish I could have attended a second show to fully soak it in.   :)

Nice to see another update as we settle in for a long wait for the next album. Though I'm a 30+ year fan, I've really only waited once before, and that was before the Internet era.

I've read enough back posts to see what I need to guard against. I know it will take a long time. I know not to believe anything they say. Especially Bono. When I hear the album is close, I will think "two more years." If I hear they have reinvented music, I will think "as long as it's not Bomb." I will be prepared for increasingly ridiculous hair and I will love them just the same.

Kelly, beautiful paintings. Can't decide my favorite one but I guess Edge and the white guitar (I should probably know its name and exactly what song it's for but alas). Can't even believe they are watercolors!
