Tours / Re: U2 is lazy
« Last post by podiumboy on October 13, 2018, 05:40:22 PM »
Big Tom Petty fan here.  Saw Tom & the Heartbreakers 8 times between 1999 and 2017. 75% of each show was the exact same songs, in the same spots, with the same antics and banter.  Plug in a couple songs from the new album if there was one, and other than that it was the same hits.  And once the tour started, it was very rare that anything would change during the course of that whole tour.  U2 might as well be DMB compared to them!

But I enjoyed each show, and Iím so glad I got to see them one last time shortly before Tomís death.  WE MISS YOU TOM!!!

No scrubs?

That has a "no" refrain but not not an "every" refrain, and the melody is different.

Love that song though.

I love the way MacPhisto slams Boingo. It's awesome.

General U2 Discussion / Larryís standing drumset (inside screen) on EI 2018 tour
« Last post by robert752 on October 13, 2018, 01:55:44 PM »
Does anyone know how Larry plays the bass drum when heís using the drumset inside the screen (during The Blackout and more recently also during Stay and Wild Horses (he needs to stand up behind the kit due to the limited space inside the screen, so obviously he canít use his feet for the bass drum and percussion). Is the bass electronically generated with a beatbox or does he actually play the bass with his hands? (Iím not a drummer so I have no idea how this would work).
Just curious about it and wondering how Larry solves it ;)

Spoilt!

Majority of bands go on tour without ever changing their setlists! Same setlist, every single night for over a year!

I'm going to the Friday show, too. There's a train back to my hometown at 23:12pm on the Friday night but, I probably won't make that train in time so I'm staying overnight and traveling back on Saturday morning instead. The train strikes have meant that there are very few trains running on Saturday 20th and journeys either start by train and end with bus replacement or, in my case, I have to get a bus all the way home. Not ideal but I have no other option really.

Also, I think there will be extra security checks at the MEN Arena so I'd advise people to go early.

Can't wait to see U2 again  :D

Hey sorry, I already have it.  I was just curious.  Its pretty unusual for U2 media to go out of print.  Maybe your searches will help someone else anyway though.  Thanks!

My religious beliefs impact my political beliefs. Life is my primary concern. I can never vote for a candidate who is pro abortion even if I believe with 99 percent of their other platform. For example. I love our senator, but I wonít vote for her because of the life issue.
