Get On Your Boots just shot to the top of my fave U2 songs list! It's like a marriage of Led Zeppelin and The Beatles in Morocco. I was VERY surprised by the HEAVY African influence in this song the first time I heard it. And when the bridge plays ("you don't know how beautiful you are") I was again surprised, it was like a ray of sunlight cutting through the song and warming up the room, and my first thought was, "Wow, they really ARE channeling The Beatles." That cool little African-tinged solo of Edges. Larry's massive, world-conquering drumming. Adam's immense, groovy bassline. And then: "LET ME IN THE SOUND SOUND!" I'll be playing this track about 100 more times today and then all week, every chance I get. It's great. I feel like I've rediscovered U2.

And THANKS FOR THIS THREAD. Can we give trolls the boot if they wander in here? I'm tired of arguing with them!!!!!!!!!!

Hope all you guys are enjoying Get On Your Boots as much as I am!!!!!!!!!

Is anyone else but me getting a bit frustrated at the level of negativity in a lot of the forum posts? Complaints about the direction of the new single and album, even though we haven't heard it yet, complaints about the Lincoln Memorial performance, Bono's activism, the album cover...everything!

Part of this was because of some troll who recently joined and kept posting various threads along the lines of "Wasn't ______ sh**?". The one thing I'm giving a damn about - the album - is falling into place very very well as far as I'm concerned. So no negativity from me - well, not about the great start to this U2009, anyway.

And this took several minutes to post. Clearly me being too positive breaks @U2's servers.

LOL I agree. I got sucked in last nite arguing with the !@#&*'s. Leave the negative vibes at home. Its all about the single. I love that Larry part, when Bono says "Let me in the sound!"  Its like POP, Achtung, The Beatles, and Zepplin all thrown in one pot. Oh this is going to sound good live!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't to see how it translates to live, hopefully it will sound even more kickass than the studio version.

And I want the b-sides now.  ;)
