Id have to go with Rubin, despite what you may think of 'Window In The Skies' as a song - it sounds amazing. Crisp, punchy, lush and clear without going over the top.

I think Nigel Godrich would go a great job with U2, but Rubin or Jack White would be interesting.

As I was scrolling down this thread I thought this myself, and then you beat me to it StrongGirl.

I was going to say Edge, but you know it would be a team effort!  :)

I'd like see them work with Flood again. He and The Edge did such a great job together on Zooropa.

Yeah, me too. Work for me in the summer though is 15 hours a day 7 days a week. The only 2 days I'm getting off are to fly down to Seattle for the show there.

They wouldn't trust themselves.

What about Jacknife Lee?  It was The Edge who recommended him to REM to produce 'Accelerate'.  Why not take his own advice.

my first two picks would be 1) Atticus Ross and 2) Nick R., who's most famous for his Foo Fighters work, but who also did a spectacular job on Rush's last album.

Off of that list, the only one I'd pick is Trent Reznor.

#@!

Well, he did some good work with some of the songs on Bomb. I think he'd bring quite a hard 'Vertigo'-style edge (no pun intended) which could make for some great music, though I'd prefer to see them pursue the Eno/atmospheric/Songs of Ascent road.

I don't want a new U2 album to sound anything like 'Accelerate' or 'Vertigo'.  I'd stick with the Lanois/Eno partnership.  Why kill the goose?
