I think this thread is the more "official" thread.  People are discussing the CD here , not news of the CD.  Plus this thread is older.  I look to this thread the most trying to find people's reactions to the CD.  Note to others: I don't care about knowing when you got your CD, I just want to know what you think if it..  :).

I locked the other thread in News and Rumors. Actually, I believe I merged 2 discussions here too  :D

I've had mine for over a week now. I love these remixes. The Beautiful Day instrumental is awesome!! Crazy remix is well...crazy good!  Does anyone hear the intro to I Will Follow in the Vertigo one or am I just crazy (pun intended  ;D)?!  I was just thinking that Bono can no longer say a U2 song can clear a dance floor! Well done, U2!

Well I have been listening to it today and my favourite is Staring At The Sun - (Brothers In Rhythm Ambient Club mix).  The monster truck mix is also really good!  Good to workout too..go for a run or a walk!

I too miss the vocals on BD.  I love Fast Cars...Love it.
I can't say I am a big fan of the Boots remix, not sure why really...but it does keep you moving if you are working out!

Listening right now to the COBL Hot chip 2006 remix and loving it too.
Those are the stand out ones for me.
Loving having "new" songs!

It's a shock that I'm really getting into this David Holmes Remix of Beautiful Day.  I generally hate remixes...

I love this remix because it sounds more like 4 guys just jamin' like crazy with no begining and no end... just play!  8)

I read the Brothers In Rhythm mix was made by a couple of DJ's during the Popmart Tour without U2's consent?  So far it's my favorite song on the whole CD.

I have only listened to it once.  I have to confess that I don't like it - not in an ambivalent kind of way, but really in a Rubs Me The Wrong Way kind of way.  I will give it another chance, but my initial reaction to the album was, "Here is Bono's voice without the rest of the band," and I need the rest of the band for it to feel like U2!!!

Exile - no kidding here - *you* should produce U2's next album.  Loved your Boots remix and wish the one on the CD had been half as good as yours.

*will try to re-listen with an open mind*

Only if they let me manage them, too....

The thing that ruins the FOOW remix of Boots is that lame effect they put on his voice during the second verse. How anyone thought that would improve the mix is beyond me. I hope to tinker with it when I have the time.

They actually sent me a copy of Songs of Ascent instead. It's not too bad.

I actually thought that the effect was really cool. Thats what I love about remixes, you never know what you'll find.
