iTunes pre-order: Get on your Boots album art difference
« on: January 19, 2009, 12:02:21 PM »
When I went on iTunes this morning to pre-order the album (in the US store), I was unaware that there was a deluxe version so I ordered the normal one. Anyways, thinking that the single wasn't downloaded if one ordered the normal version, I cancelled my pre-order and ordered the deluxe version. When I looked in my Purchased Songs folder I saw two versions of GOYB. One had downloaded from each pre-order. They were the same length and seem to be the same, but the album art shows up differently. The version from the normal pre-order has the cover shown on u2wanderer.org. However, the album cover from the deluxe version has a white album cover. I've taken pictures for comparison. As you can see, the white cover has larger text. Hope this isn't redundant.

I had the same thing happen to me. I don't know why. Maybe it's something like how the Boy album cover is different than the Boy deluxe version album cover on iTunes.

Yeah the same thing happened to me.  I ordered the deluxe edition and had no idea that the single downloaded, until I went into my Library and saw that it was there.  Something fishy going on around here.....

I think it's those sneaky iTunes employees and Steve Jobs again. I think we're on to something. :)

I just have to wonder who decides these things. Is the band getting together with Steve Jobs saying, hmm lets have two different album covers for this single. Not because it makes a difference, but so people can be confused...haha.

Yeah I agree. Steve and the guys are secretly working together (maybe to take over the world).

I suspect they have taken over the world. We just haven't noticed yet.

That's it! Apple products have already taken over my house. U2 has taken over everything else.

Now that we've noticed, I wonder if we will be "disappeared" to an uncharted island in the South Pacific.

We'll have to contact the Witness Protection program. At least we can listen to Mothers of the Disappeared. As long as it is a nice island I'd be fine with going there. Maybe U2 will come and visit us sometime.
