U2

The Who

everyone else

you mean The Who at the Super Bowl? that was awful. Nice stage, but ...

really I thought it was excellent... in fact one of the best since u2

See, I enjoyed it, too!  Thought it was really great... though I definitely have to say, Prince was phenomenal.  And I'm not even a Prince fan!

Springsteen was the best.  Any-half time performer that tells people to "put down their chicken wings" automatically wins. Plus no one has yet to beat his slide across the stage.  U2's was very good...but Springsteen's was fun.

That's often the response when people see Prince live in concert for the first time. ;)

Usually I agree to watch the Superbowl with folks "just until halftime" and leave as the show gets going.  When U2 was the act, I stuck around for the whole gig.  Seeing all those names from September 11 is permanently ingrained in my memory.

Same for me...I thought it was a beautiful tribute.

The moment where Bono shows the American flag jacket lining? I'm not even AMERICAN and that moved me. The 'In this moment, We Are All American' thing.

Bruce's gig was a damn good time, but U2's performance was emotional.  And this at a football game.  They understood their audience, and how they could make their performance meaningful.  They took the opportunity to really connect with a grieving people.  Bono holding his jacket open, was Bono showing us his heart.  I loved him for standing their unabashedly showing a flag that wasn't even his own.

On performance alone, I have to say I am split between U2 and Prince. However, U2 made such a bold and beautiful statement, I have to give them the edge.

Get it? The Edge? Heehee.  ;D
