1) U2
2) Radiohead
3) The Beatles
4) Modest Mouse
5) Coldplay
6) OutKast
7) Arcade Fire

U2 is far and away my favorite, though that hasn't always been the case.  I used to like Radiohead as much or more, but even though Radiohead is still putting out great albums and songs and I still love their music, over time my love of U2 has grown by a large margin.  Coldplay used to be my #3, but then totally dropped out of my top 10 after X&Y and then reentered after Viva La Vida.  I decided to check out The Beatles because they are usually listed as the greatest band of all-time, and was not disappointed and have loved them ever since.  Modest Mouse may be a little too pessimistic and non-Christian for the average U2 fan, but I'm actually pretty pessimistic and non-Christian myself.  OutKast is my favorite from the rap genre, and I decided they deserved a spot on my top 7 more than another indie rock band like Interpol or Broken Social Scene.  But I couldn't leave off the Arcade Fire, who have shown a lot of promise with their two albums.  And unlike Interpol and Franz Ferdinand, I don't think they've gotten worse as they've gotten more popular.

There are so many...

U2, The Alarm, ABBA, Echo and the Bunnymen, Gavin Friday and the Virgin Prunes, The Clash, The Ramones, The Cure, Roxy Music, Ultravox, Paul Weller, Style Council, Jam, Sade, Everything But the Girl, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Altered Images, Yazoo,  Madness, The Specials, The Beat, Stray Cats, etc  :D :D

Just listen to XM's classic alternative station and that would sum it all up for me  ;)

The glory of the 80's.

I am indeed forever an 80's girl.  :D

Anyway, the top 2 are always, without doubt, in this order:

2 U2

Always in the top 5:

Stones

The final two:
