If/When you meet the band
« on: March 22, 2010, 01:09:27 PM »
What could you say to them or ask them that they haven't heard a million times before?  Be creative.

Larry: Who do you think is gonna win the world cup?
Adam: What do you think is your best song?

I don't know about the other two.

Good thread!
First thing I thought of was I'd ask Edge if hes painted any cats lately.
Bono: If he ever gets discouraged with his humanitarian work.
Thinking on Larry & Adam.

I think I mentioned this before. I would ask them all about the early days of Lypton Village with the Virgin Prunes. But there may not be enough time for all of that !  :D

I would tell them about my brother (who was a U2 fan, of course) being in the Marine Corps in Desert Storm during the build up for the release of Achtung Baby.  This was before email and satellite phones, so the only time we heard from him (other than snail mail) was when he had shore leave and could find a pay phone.  Because of the time difference, his calls always came in the middle of the night.  I remember telling him one night about Achtung Baby and the new single, The Fly.  This was shortly before I became the fanatic that I am now.   ;D

I would have to ask Bono about his humanitarian work, specifically if he feels the same way I do about my job.  This, of course, would be a conversation that would have to last for days and be done over a lot of wine. visitors can't see pics , please You are not allowed to view links. As for the others, I have no idea. I'll have to think about that.

If he's the one who did the Vertigo DVD, you're absolutely right, TD!  (I always thought my cat could have done a better job.  And she isn't very smart.  That's just embarassing!)

I legitimately have a 6-page letter of all the things I want to ask Bono.

Bono: May I buy you a pint? (This is to entice the conversation)

Edge: May I buy you a pint?  Or, so ... rock, paper, scissors, lizard or spock?

Adam: May I buy you a pint? Or did you take our suggestion and get a smoking jacket?

Larry: May I buy you a pint? Or if I told you I had a water gun for you, and a water gun for me, would you answer my challenge to a duel?

Collective question: Midget or acrobat?

Very cool story Georgia-I bet they would appreciate!

Yeah, if we're gonna play it that way I'd ask any of them to share a drink.  But I mean legit, like outside a stadium or something.  I've always wanted to think of something to say to one of them that they'd never heard before, but that was relevant.  You know what I mean?

Edge - if he wishes he had done more solo work, like Captive

Adam - if he wishes he got to do more vocal work

Larry - if he would have put up the notice if he had known how famous U2 would become (him being so private)

Bono -  Umm, if he wishes he was taller :D

Collectively - if they have any regrets
