A new cartoonist
« on: May 27, 2010, 04:24:10 PM »
I found Achtoon Baby on this site. It was really, really funny, almost every single one. I've actually been rereading my favorites this week, and I wondered if you were going to get a new cartoonist to replace Kelly. Hope so!

Hear, hear.

(but I also know that it could be difficult to find one)

It's been a long time since Kelly stopped. :(

Yeah I agree. There's some artists here (check out people's avis!) and I like drawing but I dunno... what if it wasn't just one person? Maybe whoever wanted to do it/if we had a rotation? It would make the task a lot easier and probably get more interested people.  :)

Some day we'll go out looking for someone who's

1) brilliant
2) hysterical
3) a great artist
4) a U2 fan

But that might be a rare combination. We were lucky to have had Kelly around, that's for sure.

Adding staff is a long, drawn-out process that we take seriously, and we generally don't have time to do it when U2 is active/on tour/etc.

Maybe there is one of these somewhere here in the forum and I haven't found it, but maybe, in the mean time, there could be added to forum a grouping for U2 humor/cartoons and people could just post their own. I know plenty of people do it in the threads themselves, but maybe there could be a separate section devoted just to that.

We used to have special sections for fan artwork, fan poetry, fan stories, etc., and they didn't get used enough to justify the clutter of having more boards.
