Not very interested in the album anymore
« on: January 22, 2009, 08:21:13 PM »
After hearing "Boots", the wonderful excitment i've had in the last few months about the new U2 album is well and truely over. Hearing "Boots", for me, was like going to the footy to watch your team play, and instead seeing a bunch of guys run around as if the have no idea what they are doing.

Hmm-- just wondering how many times you heard it before you came to this drastic decision.  Seems pretty rash.

Another question how long have you been a fan?  Just curious. Personnaly I don't make decisions like that so fast.

So when your footy team has a bad match, you assume it can't get any better?

Ouch. That stings. Luckily there is the Tri-Nations that they own.   :)

Hey --- the All Blacks are my team!!! And they are improving and already own most of the world.

Although, I do prefer Aussie Rules to Rugby...maybe that's a sin...but I am an American!

No. But when you see your team put on a performance that is much less then what you think their potential is, you feel disapointed.

When Bono mentioned that numbers were very important to the new album, i didn't realise he meant that the first single would be "U2 by numbers."

When HTDAAB was released, it had a lot of instant positive threads.

I think the negative reactions stem from the first single which leads people to think this is POP v2.0.

Not very good news for U2.

Cheers,

J

HTDAAB got positive comments but now is often bashed unfortunately.

But i'm glad that U2 are trying something new again, pushing boundaries like Pop. Well I think they're. Boots is a good indicator of that.

I hope the albums songwriting will be upto the level of Pop.

Everyone keeps talking about Pop, and how it was experimental and all that bs. And thats why it failed. Every hear of an album called Achtung Baby? Ya think The Fly was a radio friendly song when it came out? It was said in here or another thread that GOYB is not a radio song, and that they need a radio friendly song. Im thinkin not so much.

GOYB is nothing but a radio song...that song was made only for radio...in fact they shouldnt even put it on the new album because i can almost guarantee it will be so out of place on the album...no other song will sound remotely close to GOYB on NLOTH
