SPOILER: Rehearsal Updates & Rumours For Opening Show 2010
« on: July 26, 2010, 03:55:29 PM »
This thread will be updated with reports and rumours (note the term there!) prior to 6th August. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

29th July
This arial image shows You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and the Countdown on U2.com continues. Furthermore, the reported new song was actually Thomas Dolby's You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login . U2Place reports that Breathe and With or Without You were played (don't know whether it was a test by band or technicians).

30th July
U2 Italia reported that Pride, City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, an unknown song (not new - maybe inaudible) and Where the Streets Have No Name were rehearsed this afternoon. New songs were apparently rehearsed indoors. U2 Place said that the unknown song was Moment of Surrender. There is some speculation that these were not rehearsed by the band due to "You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login". You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login apparently rehearsed sound checked. Nothing officially confirmed at the time of writing but my source is very reliable; Interference has claimed the clip was a fake.

U2gigs report that You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, meaning the clip of Pride and other songs wasn't Bono singing live and other sound-checks must have been done by the other members of the band (they've been in Turin throughout the whole time) or their techies. However, fans have reportedly You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login contradicting the above reports. It's turning into a circus huh?

Pinch-punch, first day of the month. Er, well, not much news about except Bono is still not in Turin because You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login! U2.com releases another Countdown video...You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

As I write this sentence, I'm rejoicing (well, not on an Ultraviolet level) but You are not allowed to view links. Register or Loginwas sound-checked!. And to add the cherry on the cake, You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. Oh happy days!

U2Gigs has tweeted that Mysterious Ways, City of Blinding Lights, Miss Sarajevo and Magnificent were sound-checked. Note that these had no vocals and were probably conducted by U2's techies. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login have no reported that Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World, Elevation (riff), Gloria, Get On Your Boots, Until the End of the World and Unknown Caller were rehearsed by the techies.

The band then fully rehearsed Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World, In A Little While, Soon with Beautiful Day and Elevation. I also managed to dig out a fan's attempt to decode the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login lyrics, unofficially titled You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. U2 Kiss the Future has reported You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

Final round-up of You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login: we have a Discotheque sighting. I repeat, a DISCOTHEQUE sighting (well a snippet..).....and 2 NEW SONGS.

Well word on the street, I mean er, web, is that Ultraviolet has been shown the door and replaced by the glam-rock of Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me. Out of all people, I should be the most disappointed (you know, violet avatar, constant large type/fonts of 'ULTRAVIOLET LIIGHT') but considering I have probably 20 versions of Ultraviolet and it's on DVD, I'm surprisingly not bothered. Change is good folks!

A U2Place You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login: In A Little While, Miss Sarajevo, Until the End of the World, Magnificent and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me all played.

Right, we have an actual set-list forming:

1. Space Oddity + New Song
2. Beautiful Day
3. Get On Your Boots
4. Magnificent
5. Mysterious Ways
6. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
7. The Flowering Rose of Glastonbury (Jaysus boys, change the title of that song!)
8. Elevation
9. In A Little While
10. Spaceship + Miss Sarajevo
11. Until the End of the World
12. The Unforgettable Fire
13. City of Blinding Lights
14. Vertigo
15. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Remix)/ Discotheque [snippet]
16. Wednesday Bloody Wednesday
17. MLK
18. Walk On/ You'll Never Walk Alone [Snippet]
19. Amazing Grace/ Where the Streets Have No Name

***Encore***
20. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
21. With or Without You
22. Moment of Surrender

An article by Billboard said that the set-list from last night You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

Now we have a final stab at rehearsals:
1. Space Oddity / Intro jam / Beautiful Day
2. In A Little While
3. Miss Sarajevo
4. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
5. Ultraviolet (Light My Way)
6. Discotheque (extended w/ riff)/ Crazy Remix.

Ultraviolet (Light My Way) makes a return apparently!
