The Best Advice I got before a concert

What was the best advice you got before going to a concert (any concert)?

Someone on the forum wrote to simply "look up" at a U2 concert and that was the best advice! My husband and I "looked up" at our 360 concert and were just awed by the light effects from the claw in the night sky. I will always remember that.

After I developed Tinnitus I was advised to wear earplugs before a concert.

I'd say that the best advice ever given at a concert is as follows:

Don't move
Don't talk out of time
Don't think
Don't worry
Everything's just fine
Just fine
Don't grab
Don't clutch
Don't hope for too much
Don't breathe
Don't achieve
Or grieve without leave
Don't check
Just balance on the fence
Don't answer
Don't ask
Don't try and make sense
Don't whisper
Don't talk
Don't run if you can walk
Don't cheat, compete
Don't miss the one beat
Don't travel by train
Don't eat
Don't spill
Don't pi*s in the drain
Don't make a will
Don't fill out any forms
Don't compensate
Don't cower
Don't crawl
Don't come around late
Don't hover at the gate
Don't take it on board
Don't fall on your sword
Just play another chord
If you feel you're getting bored
I feel numb
I feel numb
Too much is not enough
I feel numb
Don't change your brand
Gimme what you got
Don't listen to the band
Gimme what I don't get
Don't gape
Don't ape
Don't change your shape
Gimme some more
Have another grape
Too much is not enough
I feel numb
Gimme some more
A piece of me, baby

Don't believe the hype

I feel numb
Don't plead
Don't bridle
Don't shackle
Don't grind
Don't curve
Don't swerve
I feel numb
Lie, die, serve
I feel numb
Don't theorize, realise, polarise
Chance, dance, dismiss, apologise
I feel numb
I feel numb
Don't spy
Don't lie
Don't try
Imply
Detain
Explain
Start again
I feel numb
I feel numb
Don't project
Don't connect
Protect
Don't expect
Suggest
I feel numb
Don't project
Don't connect
Protect
Don't expect
Suggest
I feel numb
I feel numb
Don't teach
Don't reach
I feel numb
Don't touch
Don't dive
Don't suffer
Don't rhyme
Don't fantasize
Don't rise
Don't lie
I feel numb
Don't project
Don't connect
Protect
I feel numb
Don't expect
Suggest
Don't project
Don't connect
Protect
I feel numb
Don't expect
Suggest
I feel numb

Don't move

That's the best advice I've gotten. Well, for maintaing your spot anyways. I've been to outside concerts and concerts in small clubs. People try to get up to the front where there's clearly no room, so you don't move so you don't get pushed back, and so they don't have to push through the crowd again.  :D

When waiting in a GA line, take cheap inflatable rafts/loungers to sit on that you can toss in the garbage later. And wear comfortable shoes.

You don't, you're expected to behave like an animal.

I did too!! No one told me but I just did. It was awesome, Cherry. Too bad the police helicopters had to ruin it a bit but we had that bomb scare from terrorists that day. Ahh...life in NYC. Just another day of that stuff.

Don't listen to the band you're seeing that day and don't wear their merchandise (i.e. shirt) to the show.

"Link arms so those drunks don't take our spot"

This coming from one of the three sisters I had just met in line to get into the Red Zone. We bonded because we were the first Native American u2 fans that we had met.  ;D

Put your tickets in a safe place and then remember where you put them!  Especially if you have to keep track of them for, oh, 18 months or so! (Mine are in our fire-proof box with the birth certificates, so if I forget, somebody here can remind me where they are.)
