Zoo TV giant heads?

so, whats the deal with the "giant headed" masks they wore during zoo tv? when and where did this happen? for those that don't know what i'm talking about, they can even be seen at the end of the sweetest thing video.

It wasn't U2, it was a performance art group called Macnas that U2 brought along with them on the road. You can learn more about them here:

They often cropped up on TFI Friday in the UK with Chris Evans.

I saw them "perform" at Roundhay Park Leeds. It was rather surreal sort of performance art. Most of the crowd didn't get it. I found it vaguely amusing if a little odd. They all climbed out of big boxes and danced around ...
