Guess teh U2 Song in your own native language
« on: December 01, 2010, 03:59:10 AM »
OK so here's a new view on a game. See if you can guess a U2 song in your own native language. Here's onee in Irish - it aint that difficult!! Any guesses?

Ag lorg a shábháil ar mo shábháil m'anam
Ag Breathnú ar an áit ina bláthanna ag fás ar bith
Ag lorg a líonadh go bhfuil Dia poll múnlaithe
Máthair ... carraig sucking máthair agus a leathnú, máthair ...

Dunc Naofa, spacejunk ag teacht i do na splancscáileán
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)
dopes-WH WH-bán ar punk-stánadh isteach sa flash
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)
Ag féachaint don leanbh Íosa faoi an bruscar
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)

Máthair ... carraig sucking máthair agus a leathnú, máthair ...
Bubble popping, leis an charraig agus ... carraig agus ... rac is roll, máthair ...

Máthair ... mháthair ... mháthair ...
Máthair ... mháthair ... mháthair ...

Máthair ... Tá mé fós do mhac
Tá a fhios agat mé tar éis fanacht ar fad chun éisteacht leat a rá mar sin
Máthair ... D'fhág tú, agus rinne mé duine éigin
Anois tá mé fós ag leanbh insíonn, aon duine dom aon

Ag féachaint do fhuaim go drown dul amach ar an domhan
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)
Ag Breathnú ar an athair mo bheirt chailíní beag
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)
Fuair an swing, fuair an smacht, fuair mo tuí i líomanáid
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)
Fós á lorg ag an duine a bhí agam sula ndearnadh an domhan
(Tar éis a bheith thart ar ais ... bhí thart tosaigh)

Máthair ... carraig sucking máthair agus a leathnú, máthair ...
Thuras siopadóireachta popping in iúl, tá sé rac is roll, máthair ...
Máthair ... tarraing mháthair, yeah, yeah f***, máthair ...

Máthair ... mháthair ... mháthair ...
Máthair ... mháthair ... mháthair ...

Soothe mo mháthair
Riail dom athair
Amadán mo dheartháir
Woo mo dheirfiúr
Soothe mo mháthair
Riail dom athair
Taispeáin mo mháthair
Taispeáin mo mháthair
Taispeáin mo mháthair
Taispeáin mo mháthair
Taispeáin mo mháthair

This thread won't be good for the native English speakers.

Hey - I don't know a single word in Irish, but I tried to look for other clues...
like the structure, length of verses, single words that are recognizable etc.

I spotted the mother, mother, mother - so I knew it would be MOFO.

And for example Swedish shouldn't be too tough because it's quite close to English after all. But if I post one in Finnish, I'd love to see if anyone besides Lina will be able to solve it.

Might have to give it a try later tonight.

No, I mean that the English speakers would have to find a different language from English.

They can always guess the ones we post.  :-*
Are you going to give us a go?

I just tried to translate a song and noticed that I would have to pick a really easy/obvious one - otherwise no-one would ever have a chance to guess it.

I'm too lazy to find the lyrics and google translate it. (I'm on my phone). So if I translate wrong I should still be better than google. Since may speak Swedish it probably will be easy for her so I won't bother translating the whole song.

Om du vrider dig och vänder dig om
Om du sliter dig i två igen
Om jag kunde.. ja, skulle..
Om jag kunde skulle jag släppt taget

Ge upp..

Woo. That looks wrong. All this English messed up my Swedish..

There's suppose to be another "jag" in the end of sentence 3.

Du glömde "Rubba (?)" efter "Ge upp"
