War
The Unforgettable Fire

I miss album covers.  CD sleeves are just too small...

WAR and THE JOSHUA TREE

War is so powerful and bold. Its just like "BANG" in your face. So good.

JT is epic. Great photography, very moody and it reflects the album perfectly.

AB and War (but only in the context of the listener being familiar with the non-US cover of Boy)

Worst - October, HTDAAB

Achtung Baby

War was my definite choice.  The cover art for War was as exciting as the music when it came out.

The second choice came down between Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby.  I wanted to list all three, but I was determined to only choose two.

Gonna go with Zooropa and ATYCLB.  I love how clean, crisp, and clear ATYCLB's cover is, and it really accents the traveling vibe of the whole album.  Zooropa I love because it's so busy and so cluttered and so full of interference, yet you can still tell that ever image has a purpose and every layer is there for a reason.

It's gotta be JT and War.  AB doesn't really do anything for me (so sue me) - just a mishmash of images.  I prefer one with a theme and vision.

Since War, most of U2's album covers have been ordinary.

At least NLOTH has a theme.
