Brandon also said U2 was his favourite album of all time so go figure!

I agree with Mofo.....this is a different kind of....hype's not the word, anticipation maybe.  The band, ya, they sound the same....."Our best ever" has been mentioned every pre-album since ATYCLB.  I don't remember them saying that about POP or Achtung.....but, after reading this review, and others, I'm beginning to think that this is going to be special.

oh geez... i have been keeping my mind super negative about this album, considering that after ATYCLB I was super stoked for HTDAAB and man... hugely disappointed... but this review just totally psyched me out... i started reading it and for some reason i only read the first songs review... i don't know how i stopped or why... but i was pleasantly to surprised when i checked back and found that i still basically had the whole article!!

Better than being another All Because of You

you tell yourself that.

I will. And you can keep crying yourself to sleep about how things havent worked out how you hoped they would.

how did I hope they'd work out?

Oh man!  These reviews are killing me!  I totally agree with you all, the reviews just have a different feel to them than the reviews of the previous two albums.  I cannot wait to own this album, turn all of the lights off in the house, and crank this brand new U2 album!   Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, this is killing me.  Thanks for posting this review!

I'm so glad to hear all the glowing reviews. I was already excited about the album and now when I hear others getting revved up about it I get even more excited. One month to go! ;D

Sgt P took music in a whole new direction and allowed for a whole plethora of other acts and sounds to subsequently be heard. Today you might poo poo it but at the time it open doors in a music industry that was very conservative. That is why it is a definitive time in Rock n Roll. Now, you have heard a thousand albums like it. But it was the first.

I'd hazard a guess that JRE doesn't really like any music.

I really think this is what The Doors would have sounded like...

If Morrison came back from Paris.
