The boys have 'dreamed it up again'
« on: February 03, 2009, 06:27:51 PM »
After the positive vibes from the recent reviews I really think the boys have done it again and challenged themselves to make a great, complete record. Edge said in the q magazine issue he wanted to 'make a record people come back to again and again like all the records I love' and I really think it's been achieved.

This month can't go quickly enough....

I agree.  I really think, based on the reviews, that this is a masterpiece in the making.  I know a lot of people will say "how can u judge an album you haven't heard."  I don't know.  What I do know is...these are the most interesting and exciting reviews I've read about any u2 album, and I've been a u2 junkie since 87.  The description of the songs is what's doing it for me.  Everyone seems to think this is u2 at it's non-sucking best.

I too think the albums going to be great because of the reviews. All of the positiveness and such is kind of giving me a good feel of what it'll be like. Even though we haven't heard it, we can judge it by what the experts say. There's no one better to trust than the experts!

I think junior is going to jump all over that "trust the experts" thing.

That quote from Edge really means something, it's quite a bold statement and judging from what's been said initially I just have a gut feeling about this.....and quite frankly it's extemely exciting

 8) We certainly will.

Seriously, not to wish my life away, but can't we just skip February? No one likes it anyway.

At least Feb. is shorter than the other months.  3 days less to wait.  ;)

Does anyone have the full Q interview? I've been to the bookstore about 5 times now looking for it! They still have the Kings Of Leon issue  :-\
Guess it's too much too ask if somebody would post it? Was hoping to get it w/o special ordering.  :'(

LOL

Now I hate to be a pooper but.. I always get kinda worried when I see talk like this that people may be setting themselves up for a bit disappointment.  I mean if you're expecting another masterpiece it's not very hard for an album to fall short of your expectations.  Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about a new album too, but I try not to let these first listen reviews influence my expectations.  After all they are just getting one listen and I've always found first impressions with music to be kinda tricky.  So ya, go in without any massive expectations and you'll probably avoid those new album blues and be able to enjoy the album you get even if it's not the album you thought you'd get.

Again, sorry if I'm a buzz kill.
