simple : show up, play HITS HITS HITS HITS and no Bs. That's what'll work - Glastonbury will go down in history as the defining U2 moment for this period of their career, and probably the single biggest individual performance in terms of profile and expsoure, outside of Live Aid / Live 8, in their lives.

Fact? Prove it. In world profile for festivals, Glastonbury is regarded by many as THE festival to play. Only Woodstock is larger in profile, and there hasn't been one of those for a  long time. Glastonbury is the first time since around 1984 U2 will play a full length set at a multi-artist festival in the world. The set will also be broadcast live on international television. I'm fairly sure in a decade from now U2 at Glastonbury 2011 will achieve the same kind of stature as Slane 2001 or Zoo TV Sydney or Lovetown Dublin has now.

Wasn't U2's Superbowl performance their biggest show since Live Aid?

I wonder if they're going to play A Sort of Homecoming...

I cannot see U2 playing ASOH at Glastonbury 2011. As much as I love the song, they have other songs in their vast collection that they would play before this.

I think U2 need to play a high energy, rockin set filled with some of their more popular UK hits. Bono needs to cut down on the preaching, up his fitness level and the rhythm section needs to really shine on the night

I say this setlist for Glastonbury

1.  City Of Blinding Lights
2.  I Will Follow
3.  Vertigo
4.  Magnificant
5.  Gloria
6.  October/New Years Day
7.  Beautiful Day
8.  The Unforgettable Fire
9.  Glastonbury (since they wrote a song for it last year to be played there)
10. Until The End Of The World
11. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
12. Please
13. Sunday Bloody Sunday
14. MLK/Bad
15. Walk On
16. All I Want Is You
17. Where The Streets Have No Name
Encore
18.  One
19.  With Or Without You
20.  40

**thats at least 1 song from EVERY album** :D

Opening to cobl is a great idea!  That was great when they did it on the Vertigo Tour.

Actually, in fairness, I had never heard of Glastonbury until U2 was supposed to be involved in it last year...

Why again does U2 have to play a greatest hits set?  Glastonbury was sold out before U2 was even announced.  I'm actually concerned that the recent tour performances of WOWY will translate horribly with a non-U2 crowd and actually show they haven't aged well.
