Ummm...  I think what Boom is asking is why that would make it in any sense an Achtung Baby remaster Tour when they're playing the same number of AB songs every night as they were in 2009.  :D

Yeah, I really don't think adding 'Even Better...' makes this a promotional tour for something that hasn't even been confirmed.

I'm all for logical arguments, but that's just a weird statement to make.

Not weird, just prescient.

I agree, EBTTRT was being considered back in Barcelona.

They spent a long time considering it, then.  They also considered Drowning Man, but I haven't seen it being played.

Why introduce yet another song from Achtung Baby now, that is the question?

Maybe the next greatest hits tour will evolve into the Pop remaster tour.   8)

Let's see, they could play Mofo, Gone, Please, Discotheque, and MIAMI.

This is not a greatest hits tour. 5 of major live songs got played a lot less. And over 1/3 of the setlist is still from the current decade.9 out of 23 songs. (more if Stingray is counted).

AB is getting enough play, any more song and ATYCLB style complaints of being overplayed will begin no doubt.

Vertigo, COBL, BD, Walk On, Elevation, Stuck, are all greatest hits.

The Rolling Stones played more new songs towards the end of their Voodoo Lounge tour than U2 played last night.

And it's not possible to 'overplay' Achtung Baby.

From this decade, only BD and Vertigo qualify as a part of greatest hits.

The $tones probably didn't introduce 5 brand new songs mid tour and a new tour intro like U2 did.  Or opened with 4 new songs in a row. And it's probably been a while since over 1/3 of their setlist was from the current decade.  But this thread isn't about the invalid comparisons.

I think it is possible.

What is the standard of qualification to be considered a greatest hit, in your view?

No they didn't and U2 haven't played 80 different songs on this tour, including 8 songs from their latest album, like The Rolling Stones did on their last tour.

That would be the Steel Wheels tour in 1989 at the end of their third decade. ;)

The current tour is only playing a couple of songs from the newest album. They are not promoting any album. What on earth is it then if it is not a greatest hits tour?

Songs from an album that came out in 2000 are not songs from this decade.
