We are winding down to the end of the Plan, although at people's request we may keep it going-- so many themes yet to have! It really is endless.

So for today I am bringing back a topic from last year. If you google the term "the Bono of" you get over 37,000 matches.

You know you have arrived in the world when your name takes on a meaning of its own. Being the Bono of something can mean a lot of things- that you are the best at something, that something is distinctive, that in spite of some short comings you still manage to get the job done in your own unique, inimitable style.

So today I ask you, What are you "the Bono of" and why?

This looks like the pic Faris described. Unfortunately it takes a really long time to load.
God, Bono is adorable in that. :D

Yep, that did it!!  Yes, that was the pic.

Glad things went well Mon!

Back to Bono programming!!  ;)

(I am going to have to think about this topic and come back to it... not sure. Unless is of "gab" "soapboxes" and inquisitiveness?)

Sorry I'm late but I just wanted to add that Bono must have been thinking a lot about Iris on Mother's Day ( which is also celebrated in March or April in Europe). Her death really had a profound affect on his life and the direction the band took in the early years. One of my all time favorite songs is the hauntingly beautiful Lemon .

Speaking of Lemon...

Lemon

Lemon, see through in the sunlight
She wore lemon but never in the daylight
She's gonna make you cry
She's gonna make you whisper and moan
When you're dry she draws her water from the stone

And I feel like I'm slowly, slowly, slowly slipping under
And I feel like I'm holding onto nothing

She wore lemon to colour in the cold, grey night
She had heaven and she held on so tight

A man makes a picture, a moving picture
Through light projected he can see himself up close
A man captures colour, a man likes to stare
He turns his money into light to look for her

And I feel like I'm drifting, drifting, drifting from the shore
And I feel like I'm swimming out to her

Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins

Lemon, see through in the sunlight
A man builds a city with banks and cathedrals
A man melts the sands so he can see the world outside
You're gonna meet her there
A man makes a car
She's your destination
And builds a road to run them on
You gotta get to her
A man dreams of leaving
She's imagination
But he always stays behind

And these are the days when our work has come asunder
And these are the days when we look for something other

Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins
Watching her
Midnight is where the day begins
Watching her
Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins
Midnight is where the day begins

A man makes a picture, a moving picture
Through light projected he can see himself up close
You're gonna meet her there
A man captures colour
She's your destination
A man likes to stare
There's no sleeping there
He turns his money into light to look for her
She's imagination
Lemon
She is the dreamer, she's imagination
She had heaven
Through the light projected he can see himself up close
She wore lemon

I used to think I was the Bono of corporate learning but now I think I have to revise that a little. Still not sure what I am the Bono of, but everyone is the Bono of something.

Just remember that.

Ooh, nice LEMON! connection... it hit me today, and I was gonna post that!

I'll get back to this topic probably. Because I have no clue.

^^^Agreed!  ;D

I am wondering if each of us is either too shy to post what we're the Bono of or unsure of what we're that good at.

I've never thought I've put Bono up on a pedestal, but now I am realizing that I think he is the best at so many things.  Obviously the phrase "Bono of" implies that one is pretty darn good at that thing.

However, I would offer up a few thoughts on others here.

I think that Mon is the Bono of disaster relief.
And SG is the Bono of moderators.  (not saying the other @U2 mods aren't good)
EC is the Bono of MacPhisto love and great music discussions (and/or singing)
And Beli is the Bono of good advice.

Beli is right-- each of us is really good at something-- it is the gift, the talent which we bring to the people around us.
"Everyone is the Bono of something."   Figure it out and rock your world!

"The world is more malleable than you think!"  "It's your world, you can change it!"

(*steps down off soapbox*  see-- thought I might be a Bono of soapboxes.  ;D)

I was the Bono of a lot of things once. At least I thought I was, but since I wasn't good enough to actually get paid for it, I doubt that I was ever that good at all. I think that I probably got by on personality and chutzpah. I figured out quite quickly that if you act like you know what you're doing, others will think that you actually do.
