Rattle and Hum, back when it had so much energy and fire to it.

Plus, Bono could actually sing it well back then! He hasn't really been able to do that consistently since ZooTV.

I picked Boston.

And I just don't really understand everyone choosing the Slane performance. It's a very average performance. AIWIY as an intro just doesn't work for me. And Bono singing in the beginning just sounds like he's yawning. Lyrically, it's an AWESOME performance. For changing up the lyrics to Streets live, Slane is the best.

My vote goes to Slane Castle, Bono sings it perfectly and it has Shine Like Stars

I dont have a specific one in mind but there are two requirements for a great WOWY performance:

1)  Bono must actually sing the song, not this odd phrasing that he has done recently
2)  Stars coda

The Please - EP, with the four live PopMart tracks, has my favorite version of WOWY.

On film it's the ZOOTV version.

For both Streets and WOWY, I say R&H.

The Slane version of Streets bugs me because of Bono's whining at the beginning.

Live from Paris! Why is this always forgotten about! An extremely powerful performance of WOWY, featuring extended oh oh's, the shine like stars section, snippets of Love Will Tear Us Apart, and a improvised verse. Not only that but it goes on for something like 9 minutes! It's also from the era when Bono could really sing this song with such power and vocal perfection, he sang it like he truly believed in what he was singing, it was still relevant to him at that stage of his life.

Also I love how the song just starts up again after the tear gas fiasco, it refuses to end!

Everybody should watch it again.

'' I was strolling down this Paris way, I walked through the streets in the light of the day and knew that summer had arrived, when I saw your eyes, when I see you. Well I hope that it was good - as it was good for me if it was good for you, then it was good for me."

Rattle & Hum - The way Edge just shines with that rift at the end right before the "shine like stars" part is so powerful and awesome.  They need to bring that version back.

Rattle & Hum gets my vote for best WOWY because everyone absolutely nails it. Larry's drumming while Edge is doing his solo just before the 'shine like stars' coda is so powerful. It still leaves me awestruck even 20 odd years later

R&H obviously. The Paris version is embarrassing. That whole tear gas thing just ruins it completely.
