(SETLIST SPOILER???) This song went without much notice.

In A Little While

For a good six months this sites most said line was probably 'death to In A Little While'. It finally disappeared when it came round to the South American leg but nobody reacted to it at all. Maybe peope were so delighted it was dropped they were lost for words, maybe it was because they started playing, what I think anyway, is their best song in ZOOROPA.

I was just thinking about it today and wondered why there was no reaction to it being dropped.

There was actually quite a bit of rejoicing that night on the live setlist thread.   But, overall I think the news of IALW being dropped was overshadowed by the news of what replaced it: Zooropa!!  :)

By far, that is the best change they have made to the set all tour  (... maybe not "by far".   Putting EBTTRT in as the opener is up there too).

I really really like IALW!!! However, I am a-okay with it leaving if Zooropa takes its place

I think that there is one song on this tour that has been cut that the fan should have reacted and it's The Unforgettable Fire.

Willie said that they dropped it because he and the band felt like the magic was lost, when it comes to the 2009 performances compared to the 2010 performances.

I had a huge reaction to it, being that it's my #1 U2 song.

I would have rather see it remain than Miss Sarajevo, and have it transition into Zooropa.

The "questions" transition from Miss Sarajevo into "what do you want" from Zooropa is seemless and genius though

As one of the few who saw The Unforgettable FIre in 2010, I definitely didn't feel like it had the same power as in 2009- and given that the band in general were on fire compared to their 2009 performances it was all the more striking.

But yes, I was one of many who rejoiced in the setlist thread at the long-overdue death of IALW.

Oh they rejoiced alright. I was following the setlist thread that night, and even though the concert was a continent away, the feeling following it was amazing. This was also the set that had the 360 debut of Out of Control, so with that, IALW, and ZOOROPA!!!, people were going crazy

Which is why I'm a-okay with both.

My thing is, if i've seen the "rare" song once, i'm gonna be just as happy to hear another in it's place.

i.e. Miss S in for TUF
HMTM in for UV
AIWIY in for ISHF. ISHF is by no means rare but at this point i'm more than okay with the "old school setlist sure things" getting a break. a long long break.

or EBTTRT in for Breathe, Breathe obv. isn't rare but EBTTRT is.

If I recall correctly there was a lot of rejoicing about it?

I was/am certainly happy about it.

When Edge brought out his acoustic tonight I had this momentary panicked thought "What if In A Little Freaking While is back?!?!?"

Then they played Stay. 2/2 at the shows I've attended now. Haha. Crazy. <3
