I just watched it and the audio sucked big time.  It sounded like a bootleg but that's not U2's fault.

I thought they played and looked great.  All of them.  I don't really care about the "sound quality" - they're not in control of that and it's coming through my crappy TV speakers, anyway.  Having to go from 0 to 60 with a brand new song in front of an audience of industry professionals, half of whom might secretly like to see them fall on their faces, would be difficult to say the least and I think they exuded confidence and energy.  Great job, boys!

I'm wondering if the whole intro is a little sneak peak at the theme of the tour?

I thought they played and looked great considering.  I guess my expectations were lowered after the Lincoln Memorial appearance.  They are back.  And I hope that energy and attitude is with them for the tour.  Definitely had a ZooTV type feel to their performance.  Was the Let me In The Sound part of that song canned though was did Edge start singing that.  Bono seemed caught off guard like Ashley Simpson when that part started, LOL.

...I couldnt imagine seeing "The Fly" played live for the first time on the Grammys

I couldn't imagine a band taking a dump on state at the Grammy's either. Boots is a weak song, the Fly would have melt'd faces. There seem to be so many better tracks on the album—actually based on the clips every song.

I thought the live Boots was better than the studio version.  What did you expect or imagine them to do.  Release a new album and then go on there and play One?  I swear some U2 fans are just freaking spoiled rotten.  I admit, GOYB is not the best U2 song by a long shot, but I'm just happy that a new album and tour is coming.  Seriously.

That can only mean that he has a Calvin "pi*s On U2" decal in the back window of his lowered Mazda pick-up as well.

I'm not suggesting they play "One"—quite the opposite. Play " No Line on the Horizon " or something else from the album. That's all. They played Holy Joe prior to Pop for crying out loud. It amazes me how people play into the expectations of the music biz. It's silly racket, and a good time to shake it up.

My boss has heard the album, heard it twice. Said it's there best work to date. Boots is a track that panders to the industry and serves as bait for some folks that might not like what is more of an abstract album. U2 doesnt need need to do this. IMHO
