Oh, definitely. That had to be one of the harder tours to work.

All of this is excellent. The crew photos, Ayaz's photos, esp. the ones of Adam and Larry in this set--must be the moment they saw the screens.

Why is everybody down. this is a happy time. a chapter closes and another ones is beginning

I have issues with endings of any sort.

Yes, me to  :-[

OK, I'll say this out loud. The older they get, the more sad these endings are. I also wish they'd said something like "We'll see you again!" or "We're going on a break but we'll be back" or something to that effect. But when Bono says "Don't forget us..." and "Thanks for giving us a great life," I sense an air of finality to it that is probably unintentional but unsettling. And was it Montreal where he talked about finding a new circus to join?

Now you should also know I worried all those years ago when they said they were going to go away and dream it up all over again.

I don't want to end this post on a downer note so I'll say I'm thrilled that it all happened and that so many people got to see them. I have a feeling of being comfortably full after a great meal--could have more--but I feel quite satisfied.

It DID have a sense a finality to it, didn't it?  I got the same sad feeling.  However, I have heard Bono say "thanks for giving us a great life" in the past, so I don't think he meant it as a kind of goodbye.  Please, no

Had to be, Adam's was too surprised for it not to have been.

My favorite is the one of Bono without the shades. It makes my heart ache.

He says it at almost every show.

  • The world is spinning fast tonight...
It was not anti-climatic to me! And I've been to 6 shows on this leg and was well-acquainted with the setlist. Each show I attended was special in its own way (and thus had its own special surprises) but I think last night was one of my all time favorite. From the pit, you could see everyone's expressions. The crowd sang past the end of songs so far Bono had to cut us off to start another one. And he was SO HAPPY to see us singing all these songs!! The spirit in the stadium among band and crew was awesome.

But I guess everyone is entitled to their (misguided :) ) opinion...

Gone would have been so perfect for the final show.

Goodbye, you can keep this suit of lights.

I was just thinking that! Gone- it would give people a bit of Pop (and surprise to the setlist) that they're looking for, and well- it's called Gone... and the lyrics... it'd be too perfect.

And maybe I'll sew one :D Then all the U2 fans could share it.

Unknown Caller, this show fell short of nothing (no other last show). If you were there, you'd feel the same. The energy there was fantastic!!! In fact, of all the shows I've ever seen, this is my new favorite. Springhill Mining Disaster, for godsakes!! Where the hell did THAT come from? They haven't played it for over 20 years!!! OMG, I went ballistic when he started singing that. And OOC... 40... Good god.

Like all set list complaints, you had to be there.

Oh no, I'm sure it was brilliant when you were there! I just meant in pure setlist terms and in 'surprises' it definitely didn't measure up to Miami, where we got 'My Sweet Lord', Larry joining the support band and 'In God's Country', or Honolulu when we got Pearl Jam and members of Greenday joining the band onstage, plus Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses with a fan. And it seemed so obvious that they would do something withCarney *and* Arcade Fire, so to not get either was pretty underwhelming... I get that it would be different to be there, though
