Ok. But wasn't Vertigo essentially an arena tour?

Arenas in the US and stadiums in Europe, Latin America, and Australia

I think that's cuz arenas in Europe and elsewhere are much smaller, though, and cannot hold the amount of people ours can.

Miami and Honolulu were arena tours. Moncton had over 100,000 ppl in attendance. I think it's the difference in type of tour...

Moncton was capped at 80,000: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

(Not to be picky, but just to save a false head count from circulating).

Ok, so it was *only* 80 000. I had heard 100 000 but I wasn't counting. There were a ton of ppl.

Agreed.

And while Vertigo ended at Aloha Stadium, as pointed out by someone before, using Vertigo's stadium stage, there were less than half as many people (35k+) at that show than at Moncton.

To support the stadium v. arena (even thought it was in a stadium) point.

It's sad to go to the tour page on Wikipedia and see it say "The U2 360 Tour was a tour by U2".

Mars Girl, how big are your arena´s approx? I went to see the Bulls last year in the United Center but didn't notice it was that much bigger than an average Arena in The Netherlands ('Ahoy' in Rotterdam holds about 15.000).

To be honest, I'm not sure. I think it's more than 15,000 in general, though.

Okay, I just looked up Quicken Loans Arena, which is the one in Cleveland that U2 has performed at in the past (under another name).... it's 20, 562. I'm sure most basketball arenas are similar. (Generally arenas are used for basketball.)

There's a great video of "40" at U2.com (for subscribers only) - probably soon available via Utube too (if not already).
