I was No. 10 on Pop.  :-X

 :'(

Pop DOES get the fanbase emotional.......on both sides.

HTDAAB only gets them emotional in one direction of course !

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE???

ATYCLB & Pop are far superior to anything the band did in 80's.

**Shock, Horror. Did I just say that??**

So shoot me, I don't care. Someone needs to tell it like it is.

Whats wrong with ATYCLB?????????

It's got Beautiful Day, Stuck In A Moment, Elevation, Walk On, Kite, In A Little While & Wild Honey!!!!!

ARE YOU MAD??

Why vote for this MASTERPIECE.

And don't even get me started on Pop.

ARE PEOPLE VOTING FOR THEIR FAVEROURITE OR SOMETHING??  ???

Or do you just have no taste?

I've been a fan since '95 so yeah, relatively new. If you can call 13 years new. I certainly wasn't a fan in the 80's as I was born in '82 so I was a child. Perhaps if I was old enough to have been a fan in 80's then maybe I would love the 80's U2 more. But you know what? I love music from all decades and genres. And I love a lot of the stuff U2 did in the 80's. But to say that stuff was better then ATYCLB or Pop to me is absurd. The tunes on those two albums are mammoth and far better than Boy, War or UF.

It's all opinion isn't it ? (apart from when jick posts, then it's a fact not to be debated)

The tunes you mention as "mammoth" (Stuck, Wild honey, elevation) imho are just crap. Wild Honey and elevation sounds like they put absolutely zero effort into it, lyrics or song structure. Stuck sounds like they put effort into it but it's just a gigantic snooze fest that leaves me cold.

Boy was a debut album, an awesome one, and the songs sound fresher today than almost anything off of atyclb

War was a REAL mammoth: Sunday and New Years Day and 40, plus never (or rarely) played gems like Drowning Man and like a Song, couple more hit singles with Surrender and 2 hearts. All those sound like they had more thought and effort put into them than wild Honey or Elevation.

TUF has Pride and Bad, as well as A Sort of Homecoming, Promenade, Wire etc.

A lot of it boils down to emotional attachment, I saw shows on the Boy, War and UF tours, LOTS of them. So I'm more attached to that era than someone born in 82 might be.

Right now I'm just hoping for the first good album since 1997.

Does that matter? I've been a fan for four years, that doesn't make my opinion any less valid than that of a 30-year fan. I don't have to have "been there" to "see why" the 80s were great. And seriously, how long someone has been a fan has no impact on which era they like. That's false correlation. My faovirte albums are Bomb, Unforgettable Fire, and Pop. That's about as diverse as it gets.

I love all U2's albums in general. I am just voting for the ones I listen to least in order of their elimination because I don't know how else to play the game. Sure, it will be based on all of our own opinions. Look at Survivor on television. The person voted off is sometimes one who played the game best but was just not well liked!  Right? ??? ;D  So just have fun with the game. I like this one! ;)
