When I first watched the library copy of the Vertigo DVD in 09, I KNEW I had to see this band live. Little did I know the journey I was about to go on.
I joined this site and U2.com around the same time with the goal of seeing one show...

Well, you guys' enthusiasm is contagious! ;D No sooner did I score GA's for Chicago 1 than I was deep in the auction for Chicago 2's Red Zone.
The first show was difficult as I was stuck behind people and could see little. I did know enough to bounce to BAD! The next night was everything the first was not. Great spot on the rail on Adam's side. Wonderful folks to hang with and Adam practically babysat us all night!

As soon as the 2010 shows went on sale, I had to get Chicago GA. I thought I'd give it another go. Then E. Lansing looked doable, so I bought seats for it.

Bono's back injury had me frantic for his health, the way I'd have been for a family member. Heck, I'm beginning to think the band IS family now...

Once they announced the new dates, I realized that Minneapolis and St. Louis were timed so I could get to them and still have recovery time between them. Soooo, I did what any credit-card holding fan would do. ;D

I have a chronic illness that robs my energy. It has caused me a lot of physical pain as well, and contributed to severe panic attacks whenever I've tried to leave town. So buying these tickets was an act of faith. Faith that I'd somehow manage to use them.
"Stuff" kept happening. "Stuff" like my sister-in-law deciding to visit just around the time of the Michigan show. That meant that THE person I trusted the most as a driver would be going with me! A country fan, I knew she was agreeing to go to humor me. What I'd not counted on was U2's magic. She flew back to Idaho with 10 U2 albums-saying that she was going to try and go back to work. "I know I can do it if I just listen to Bono enough." Wow.  She has the same illness I do.

Chicago was more than magical. I'd gotten a pre-paid parking place under Soldier Field which gave me a nearby spot to return my chair to. I went down to the loading dock entrance to await the band. We saw Larry and Bono drive in and then an hour or so later, Dallas came out. Not ten minutes after that, EDGE came out and signed autographs!
It was then after 6 and the GA line had gone in over an hour before. I wanted to just see if I could get into the inner circle. No problem. By talking to people and being polite, I was able to score a nice spot on Adam's side. Bono to my front. Bono singing "Stay" on the bridge to my left, Bono behind me. Bono singing 'Beautiful Day" on the bridge to my right. Bono riding the bridge RIGHT OVER MY HEAD!
Yep Chicago was amazing!
St. Louis I had seats in the 3rd tier. Though I'd had glimpses of the Claw's majesty at past shows, she is beyond beautiful from that height! Nothing prepared me for the glory of "Streets"!

I returned from St. Louis freshly enthused about life. For 17 years I've been disabled. Now I feel I could do anything!

THANK YOU U2!

And thank YOU to all my fellow fans. Without your enthusiasm I might have missed out on the greatest experiences I've had in 20 years!

Come back soon, U21

Magnificent! Crazy!

With a list like this, I REJOICE!!   And wonder, if they won't come back again TOMORROW!?  (Encore?? Probably not.)

Very impressive list2

Like some others, this was my first U2 gig ever.   (though unlike some, I've been "of concert age" for a long time now, just on the wrong continent)
And what an incredible experience it was!

I can't believe that I got to hear four AB songs!! (my fav. album) as well as 3 NLOTH songs (LOVE IT!) and even an obscure song from October!!  Not to mention the only instance of The Wanderer on this tour, and  1 of 12 for All I Want Is You!  And see Bono give his guitar away! Truly Amazing!   My only sadness was the absence of a Pop song, loved the Discotheque snippet but missed the Please snippet. Maybe getting Zooropa helps make up for not getting a Pop song.

But I've also tremendously enjoyed following the tour here on the forum for the last year!  What a wonderful time that has been!  I am going to miss 360 and all that went with it!

This was my first view of the Claw as well, Ken!  I am sure I stood in the exact same place and tried to take a pic as well!  Wonderful, amazing memories!

We had a good time in Nash, didn't we!?

Thank you U2 for all you've done!! Thanks for "giving yourselves away" night after night!  You've given us memories like no others!  May the road rise up to meet you, the sun always be on your face....

When I first saw The Claw, I realized I loved it incredibly. The next time I saw it (thee was a gap in between times) I shouted, "I love that thing!"

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was able to see two shows on this tour - 10/18/09 in Norman, OK and 7/20/11 at the Meadowlands in NJ. It was like coming full circle since my first show ever was at the arena at the Meadowlands. I am starting to save now for the next tour.

This tour will go down as one of my best concert(s) experiences of all time. And the fact that I got to take my son to one for his first big time concerts of his life (he's only 11) will make this tour that much more memorable and incredible. And then having the Rose Bowl Bluray to essentially relive one of the three shows I went to anytime I want is just the bonus that puts it over the top. I will miss this tour but will look back with very fond memories.

Thanks, Faris and Lorijane! I only wish we could have met.

Is it weird that I'm considering going to sporting events that happen in stadiums because I've fallen in love with them? I HATE sports, too! :D
I'm just afraid I'd get inside and ask what they did with the Claw?

If you're looking for me, I'll be in the funny farm singing "I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight".

2nd, I was a passive pro-football fan and didn't really affiliate myself with a specific team.  But on 9/12/09, I sat in the home of the Chicago Bears and had one of the greatest experiences of my life.  Between Snow Patrol and the start of U2, I had gone to the concession stand to get a box of popcorn.  When I finished the popcorn, I flattened the orange and blue stripped box and stared at the logo of the Bear on the front.  It slightly resembled the Bear logo from our local high school.  I turned to my wife and said, "I could be a Bears fan."
Then, a week or so later, the Bears kicked some Steeler butt, and that sealed the deal  :D
