Also I love vintage Bono roaring like an animal.

I think that was BB King stepping on his foot.

Who slags off Pride?  I think it's still one of their best songs.  I can't think of a more quintessentially "U2" song....every trademark U2 element is in that song, especially for that era.

I can certainly understand being sick of Pride, sure...but come on, if you don't like the song at all, I can't see how you can like U2.

It gets a fair amount of grief - albeit, mostly focusing on it's modern day live incarnation.

Bad?

Is there a problem with the number of votes or the song itself?

^ I think it's just the fact that Bad is one of a couple of songs that arguably (definitely) don't actually have a chorus.

I kind of agree with that analogy, it's sort of the same story with One. It has a chorus but it's not a big change from the rest of the song.

But One doesn't have a chorus, at all, it's a massive reason why the song is what it is and (I think) why the song was such a slow burner for the public to accept as a true classic.
May as well have a poll called 'your favourite bit in a U2 song'.

So are you saying that the "one love, one life" section of the song isn't the chorus? Even though that particular section isn't repeated word for word I still think that is where the song goes from its first verse to the main section of the song.

Yes, that's what I'm saying - to me it's just another part. Structurally it's a unique mother.

If they repeated it JUST ONCE I might yield to you. Enjoy your faux chorus  ;D
Peace.

Thing is, the part in One repeats, but the lyrics change so it isn't recognizable as a chorus. Actually as I put it on another page, it might be considered the bridge rather than the chorus, which is absent.
