Sounds good to me.

Why this show isn't on the re-release fiasco is beyond mere mortals.

Perfection. Cant wait to see this whole show pop up as an Easter Egg on the upcoming AB Uber Super Box set.

Dream Out Loud!  ;)

I heard a U2 tribute band play it and it was quite good. So if a fake U2 can do it...no excuses, boys!

Oh wait BONO ON NOW with Knaan!!!!

I remember it at Twickenham in 2005. It sounded very tired. Unless it gets a significant reworking to be more like the single version, it doesn't really go down well live.

They played it in Los Angeles on Vertigo second leg.  It was acoustic but it sounded damn good.  Also on the second USA leg of the Elevation Tour they played a snippet of it while transitioning out Bad and the intro for Streets.  That sounded pretty good as well.

The final Vertigo show was Hawaii.

U2 played it because a fan requested it and played the piano with U2.

Sure, the fan got his 5 minutes of priceless U2 memories they will never forget.

But the audience were suddenly transported to a horror scene where one of U2's singles from one of their greatest albums was murdered.

U2 have not yet recovered from that trauma, as they did not consider that song when they were dusting off some Achtung Baby songs for Glastonbury.

Cheers,

J

A lovely theory discredited more than a little by the fact not only did U2 consider that song when they were dusting off AB for Glastonbury, but we actually have full video and audio footage of them rehearsing it in their Glastonbury AB rehearsals in 'From The Sky Down'.

U2 still clearly do not rate it 'cos they rehearsed it but decided against playing it.

Or they just didn't rate it as highly as other songs, or feel that it suited the mood as well, or flat out didn't feel like it, or any of a thousand reasons why they don't play lots and lots of songs which they nonetheless still 'rate'?

Yeah, I meant they didn't rate it for a live performance.

My, you are in typical argumentative mood today, aren't you?

I also saw a cover band play it at a St. Patrick's Day gig in London. It sounded really good, and I'd love to hear U2 play it. We can but hope.

I love your overly dramatic posts. Any chance you write scripts for soap operas for a living?

I love it Sky! I play it often. I would go crazy if I heard U2 play it someday.

I'm astounded so many people here are apparently so close to the band that they know why they played certain songs and not others.

U2 fans and baseless conjecture are a perfect fit.

I always thought they didn't play it much because they don't really think its that great.

I always considered it to be their weakest single from the 1990s.  I don't hate it, it's got some nice moments, but its never really got me excited.
