If the band broke up and/or all did solo albums, the only one I'd be interested in would be The Edge.

I'd love to hear Edge sing lead on a few songs in an album!! It would be a nice change, though Bono's voice is great too. :)
Yes, definitely!! :)

Well his solo performance of Love Is Blindness on "From The Sky Down" was absolutely mesmerising and I can't fault Edge on any of the other great examples he has given us over the years.

His vocals on Stuck In A Moment at Slane was brilliant and Seconds at Red Rocks is another fine example of Edge's vocal capabilities.

I love Edge's voice. I've especially become aware of it by listening to bootlegs... I've got some that have Edge's IEM feed or where Edge's voice is more prominent due to positioning of the taper or something. And I'm just stunned by what he sounds like when you get that kind of perspective. I love every live version of the song New York because of his voice. He does this beautiful backing part... "Neeeww York..." that responds to Bono's singing of the chorus. It's CHILLING.

I loved the SBS version of his during the Mexico Popmart Tour. He does great falsettos.

He is a pretty gifted artist. And they make a great team. They all compliment each other. He does indeed have a great voice. Like the Beatles they just bring it off working together. Ah yes, he can really sing.

I think Van Diemen's is one of U2's best songs and I absolutely love Edges voice. Someone asked Edge why he wasn't the lead singer and he said "Well what would Bono do?" hahaha  :D

I agree.  It is a beautiful song.

I really want to see edge sing In A Little While acoustically, I think it fits his style perfectly. I think he's a lot better singing the slower, quieter songs than he is the faster, heavier songs.

Songs I want Edge to sing:

In A Little While
Wake Up Dead Man
If God Will Send His Angels
White As Snow (maybe not)

Teehee, great quote, and it's true! They do sound kinda alike when singing.

I love Edge's voice, especially now. He MAKES White As Snow by practically making it a duet with Bono. Edge seems very flexible, he's always melding his voice around Bono (who's all like "OOOOOOOOOOOH! LALALA!" ;D)

But ah... I'm not too fond of Van Dieman's Land on R&H :-[ Maybe it was just the recording quality of my CD? A live acoustic version with Bono done somewhere in 2008 was wonderful and harmonious though!

I didnt know until recently that Edge sings the last verse of Miracle Drug...

Above the noise, beyond the din,
I hear your voice it's whispering
In science and in medicine,
I was a stranger you let me in!

So, yeah, I'd say that often his voice is hard to distinguish from Bono's for sure. I was shocked when I realized it was Edge.

I love how their voices blend together so well. He's a perfect partner for backup vocals.Whenever Bono is performing with someone else,I feel like it's not right.
this article sums it all up perfectly:
