2011 U2 Fan Holiday Card Exchange
« on: November 13, 2011, 07:52:41 PM »
It's time for the 13th annual U2 Fan Christmas/Holiday Card Exchange, a chance for U2 fans to send greetings of the season to other fans worldwide! This exchange is open to everyone, whether or not they are members of the forum, so user names will not be familiar to all of the participants.

To participate:

 - Send a message to u2christmas@gmail.com and give me your snail mail (postal) address.

 - In the e-mail, tell me what sort of card you'd like to receive (Christmas, Season's Greetings, etc. or no preference). In early December, I will e-mail you the addresses of fellow U2 fans to send cards to.

 - If you wish to participate, plan on sending at least 10 cards.

 - Please write in BEFORE DECEMBER 2ND if you want to be part of the Card Exchange. That way there will be time for cards to get to their destinations around the world.

Thanks again for participating and have fun!

yay! I am going to try to find Project Red cards this year. I tried to order them last year but I did it too late and couldn't get them on time.

It takes a while to sort out all the names and make up the lists.

Tiffany from LA, CA... if you are out here in forum land, I loved your card! I am always pleased to find another Larry girl in the universe. The picture of you in front of the claw with your t-shirt "Larry Mullen Band" was so cute! Happy Holidays!

I have a question.... did everyone who signed up get the addresses of every person that signed up? Or was the list divided into smaller lists and sent out to groups? I think there were people who said they signed up, but their addresses weren't on the list that I was emailed.....

I think lots of people sign up (maybe from more than one forum?) And then you get a list of just 20 of them.

Thanks to all the fun holiday U2 cards we've received this year! And thanks to @U2 for setting this up.  It's so much fun to receive cards from all over the world that appreciate U2 as much as we do :)

I got an awesome card today (well, I've gotten lots of awesome cards...) This one was one of those photo cards with a montage of 360 photos. It was very cool!

I am hoping my international cards make it out on time. I took them to the post office last week to buy the international postage and I handed them to the clerk. Then I paid and left, and as I was driving home I think I remembered seeing her toss the letters into the bin without putting the postage on. Which means they will be returned to my house and take probably weeks to get back to where they are going. ****really hoping the clerk noticed what she was doing and stuck the postage on*****

There are close to 180 people participating, so I end up putting together about nine different lists. The odds that you'll already know people on whichever list I put you on will probably be slim. However, many a friendship has started with others who were also assigned to the same list.   :)
