I wish I could believe it's something people grow out of, but I know lots of young adults who still use the term.

My concern is, if we just stand by and let it go, and don't do anything to explain why it shouldn't be done, that sends the message that it's okay. I think many teens could use some real sensitivity training on the issue.

It's short hand slang for Mongoloid, which is used to pejoratively describe mentally retarded people.

So it's not just kids being offensive, it's grown adults who Hollywood hires to present their awards shows.

The worse part about him is that he just isn't funny. I mean if a guy comes off as a bit offensive, but is hilarious otherwise, then its okay. But when his comedy is basically insulting people and trying to get laughs, its annoying, not funny.

Cute. Still awaiting your apology for your offensive language.
I meant that in the "most teenagers think he's homosexual" way. BUT I am sorry if I offended you or people you know. I'm not homophobic at all.

See, but if nothing is said, those kids will think it's okay to be homophobic and will come out of school not realizing that how they feel about gay people is wrong.

Education is key. Silence is the enemy of change.

But haven't we had decades of liberal education?

God knows what the attitudes of young men are towards women with the overexposure of hardcore pornography.
