LOL - guess who voted for Wild Honey :)

That would be you, but I'm guessing it's because an equally bad song from October wasn't an option. Like I Fall Down or something.

Actually I think Is That All? is worse.

The Electric Co.'s riff put on another song.

To be fair, the riff from Is That All was subsequently used for The Cry, which became the live intro to Electric Co.

Oh, my mistake.

Nonetheless, it was already used and it was used again.

I have always wondered about this, especially from the UABRS version of Electric Co.  Oh thank you, wise forum people, for unwinding an irritating anomaly for me.  That last sentence looks really sarcastic, but I don't mean it to be, so here's this guy:  8)

While we're dispensing wisdom, I'm pretty sure the line from Bad is "bruised silken sky" (since he just got through saying "colors fly in blue and black," which are the colors of a bruise).

Not that you need to change your name or anything, I'm just saying....

Bruised Silken Sky is too antithetical for me.  Besides, I spent a good many years hearing "through Wilken's sky."  I thought Wilken was a guy (and it turns out I work with a guy named Wilken now).  Why he gets his own sky is beyond me.

Me too, cause if it's not blue, my heart will be crushed. It's like finding out everything I know wrong. Strange how much a difference one (misheard?) lyric would make.

Anyway, Acrobat and... Streets. :P I fail at tactical voting.

EDIT- Well hello, wasted 26000th post.

It's bruised, I tell ya!

It makes less sense that Bono would sing "True colors fly in blue and black, blue silken sky and burning flag," since it's completely redundant. Plus, blue and black are the colors of a bruise, and the bruised sky is set in juxtaposition to the burning flag.

You're outta your league, kids....

The bolded part was accurate.

From an aesthetic point of view, I'd rather be redundant than antithetical.  Bruised and silken right next to each other?  Pretty, but a little too pretty.  Besides, repetition and internal rhymes make for good lyrics and poetry.  And not to be a total dweeb, but wouldn't a bruised sky and a burning flag be complementary motifs, not a juxtaposition?  And isn't juxtaposition a good stand-in for my favorite word on this thread antithesis/antithetical?

For what it's worth, I totally dig your explanation and would buy it if doing so didn't complicate the whole name thing.
