Bono was at his sexiest and funniest during the ZooTV era.

I agree, but I thought Pop Bono was quite cool and 'tough' too - when Pop Bono sang Miami segueing into Bullet he looked like he was gonna kick your ass!!!

Thinking about it, I did think that 'suit of lights' Bono on the 360 tour singing his way through Ultra Violet was AWESOME!!! Attitude, sexiness and sincerity all at the same time - and I'm a bloke!! They way he hung and swung around on that microphone - AWESOME!!!

Yeah, I though that was awesome as well. Definitely the moment of the 360 tour.

Why oh why not have sung "Gone" when the bloody suit of lights was right there!

I know - it would have worked perfect!

And Love Is Blindness would have worked too!

I wonder; it's such a dark song but so obviously a closer; not sure it would have really fit in with 360 personally. though a final encore of Gone, UV LiB would have been amazing. Ohh so good that would have been.

Because then he would have had to take it off in the middle of the song when he sang "You can keep this suit of lights" or else it would have seemed insincere?

I think he was certainly aware of the connection to "Gone," though...check out how in the Rose Bowl DVD when he puts the jacket on the hanger that gets pulled up to the screen, he waves and says "goodbye" to it (which seems to match "Goodbye, you can keep this suit of lights").

Bono wearing a Unibomber look while performing Please in some MTV special thing was the best Bono look I've seen, badass. Short hair suited him well for the period too.

HTDAAB Bono was his worst period, his face looked bloated and his hair looked like something out of The Lion King.

Nowadays he lost a bunch of weight (actually an alarming amount of weight as we see in the last videoclip of the Mandela song) and I think the short hair always looked great on him. He need to drop those boring jackets and leather pants for a change though.

There isn't any particular Bono "era" in my opinion from the time of The Joshua Tree onward where he doesn't look kick-ass. If he incorporates his recent trend of wearing glasses with really circular lenses like John Lennon into a defining characteristic of his next "era," then that would certainly end the streak.

Wow, there was a time I thought Bono's short hair in the present day would lead to a return of Pop Bono. I don't really dig mohawks though...
