Concerts of 2013
« on: November 16, 2012, 11:34:38 AM »
Given that we are into the last few weeks of the year...i thought id start a Concerts of 2013 thread.

Well.....2012 was REAL quiet year for me....not that im ever THAT busy with gigs, but usuallly manage a few gigs at least.

Well....so far...2013 is shaping up nicely. Sigur Ros in Glasgow on March 2nd, James on April 13th (a saturday...my fave day for gigs) And Stone Roses in Glasgow on June 15th (also a saturday)

2012 has been the WORST year ever for gigs for me. Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Stone Roses ALL skipped Scotland. Theres only certain acts i will travel the 400 Mile trip to see, and those 3 acts were among them.

Got to see peter gabriel on oct. 6th at the hollywood bowl. That is a frustrating venue. Very big and difficult to enter. And it was embarrassing watching old yuppies gyrate to big time and sledgehammer. But i got to see Tony Levin and Manu Katche perform!

2012 was a very good year, but not a 2011! Hoping 2013 or 2014 will blow my mind again!

I'm going to call 2012 a victory because I actually got my husband to go to concerts with me!

2013 is going to bring an even bigger victory though; the Muse show we're seeing in January is on a weeknight!  That definitely violates my husband's "no fun" policy.

Weeknight gigs should be made illegal. Fri and Sat (especially for outdoor gigs) nights for gigs only....

Green Day is coming to Pittsburgh sometime next year. It was supposed to be in January, but it's been postponed. I wouldn't mind going (they're fantastic live) but I probably won't.

Can't wait for summer 2013. #DMB #newannualtradition

I only was able to see one show in 2012, which was Coldplay.  The best concert I've ever been to.

The main show I'm looking at is Mumford And Sons in Brooklyn in February.  I'm going to buy my girlfriend tickets for Christmas

Still have The Killers (1st time) on Dec. 18th

Hot Chelle Rae
Foster the People
Coldplay - 1st time and better than I expected.
American Idol Tour
Florence and The Machine - loved her!
Switchfoot - terrific, intimate performance
Justin Bieber
Carrie Underwood - I was literally Blown Away! Amazing vocals!

For 2013, I might have a Taylor Swift ticket. I bought them for all my girls for Christmas. It was supposed to be a mother/daughter thing, but I will sit this one out if one of their friends really wants to go which seems to be the case.  ;)

I'd like to see Muse in NYC/NJ in April, but not sure I can swing the trip.
