How expensive will U2 tickets get?

It's all about supply and demand.  The Rolling Stones and Barbara Streisand each have a top ticket price of $800.

Will U2 ever hit that mark?

I think as long as greedy corporations are running the show....we can expect to pay an arm and a leg for tickets. I think im right in saying that the most expensive ordinary entry ticket for 360 shows here in the UK was 150. Thats disgusting!! Even i paid 95 for my ticket (face price, and nearly double what i paid to see them on Vertigo tour). Ironically, it was the least enjoyable u2 show i have been to. The next tour will be more expensive, of that im sure

I've been paying $50-60 for their tickets for the past decade. I don't see why there'll be much of a price spike.

I remember when they gave away 20,000 spare unsold Wembley tickets to the unemployed in 1993.

They were a different band back then, but nowhere near as wealthy.

They could command higher ticket prices if and when they return to arenas.

Cheers,

$5 for my R+H filming tix in Tempe

Probaby be $500 top tier next time around

As to the issue someone else brought up of "greedy corporations" running things.

Let's not forget U2inc is just another said greedy corporation who got in bed with various greedy corporations (livenation, apple, rim, etc) .

Perhaps a statistical analysis of their ticket price increases over the years is in order.

I wish I could do that, but I don't have the data with me - having on seen two tours.

Cheers,

J

Just disregard any data you don't have.   It's probably not important. State your conclusion first. All the numbers will then fall into place.

I paid A$38 in 1989 (arena)
I paid A$65 in 1993 (stadium floor)
I paid A$98 in 1998 (stadium floor)
I paid A$98 in 2006 (stadium GA)
I paid A$103 in 2010 (stadium GA)

I think if they go to arenas in Australia (which they won't) then Live Nation will rub their hands together with glee. You'll be looking at $399 'Gold reserved' tickets for sure.

But I can still see floor as being around the $150 mark.
