Which kind of concert would you prefer to see from U2?

Answers are below, just choose one  :)

1. A concert from the beginning of a tour; when songs from U2's latest album are played and you get a chance to hear their new material

or

2. A concert towards the end of a tour; when the majority of U2's newest songs are no longer played and U2 play some of their older live tracks.

Early on in the tour, but not too early.  Basically, before they introduce I Will Follow into the set-lists.

I saw two at the end of 360, so if I had to choose, I'd say early on this time.

Are you saying you wouldn't want to see IWF, or are you saying that's the point where they start bringing back the old songs?

Early, to maximize the number of new songs in the setlist.

I agree with this.

Personally, I would want to see U2's newest material played live because you never know if they will ever play those songs again. Those "new" songs will quickly become rarities if U2 don't play them again which is another reason to see a 'start of the tour' concert I think.

Both, young Sir.

I dunno.  They mostly seem to improve, performance-wise, through the tour.  I'd probably be inclined to see a solid later show than a sketchy early one.  And NLOTH did not instill a strong desire to see the new stuff for me.

There is some truth to this, so I guess my ideal would be an early-ish show towards the middle or end of the leg.

fair enough. I wouldn't mind hearing IWF again, but I want to be able to hear more songs in the short time I can see them

Early.  You tend to hear songs performed during the 1st and 2nd legs that no one really ever hears again.

I'm thinking of songs like WGRYWH during ZOO TV and Miami or IGWSHA during PopMart.

Both to be honest. I saw the Vancouver 360 concert ( which was the last show on the first leg of the tour ) and the Seattle show about a year later, and both were awesome experiences. Even though I'm from Canada, I enjoyed the Seattle show more. Not due to the setlist, but the Seattle show was an outdoor stadium at the start of summer where as the Vancouver show was an indoor stadium in the start of fall. The crowd just seemed more subdued. I actually believe that the time of year sometimes affects the mood of the crowd.

Option one.  I saw U2 in Baltimore last leg of the 360 tour.  Don't get me wrong.  They were fantastic.  But, I would like to see more of their new material.
