It'll have to be a damn fine album to topple Trouble Will Find me, AM, and The Weight of Your Love as my top 3 albums of 2013... but hey, it's a chance.

Provided it's not chock full of disco :-)

Indeed,

Whenever I first listen to a National album I find it quite dull, but they're all real growers.

I'm liking Reflektor more and more. Feeling quite positive about the new album. I liked The Suburbs, but it was too long and had some unnecessary songs imo.

Just to be picky, but your logic confuses me a bit: if you thought The Suburbs was too long, doesn't that make it likely that Reflektor being a double album will be too long as well?

Of course, we all won't know until the album comes out, and I do look quite forward to the double album.  However, I also suspect there will be some tracks that could be done without.  I just hope they stick with their habit of making concept type albums, as concepts often make the extra tracks a little more bearable as being necessary parts of the story (at least when concept albums are done well).  Haven't heard whether this album will have any concept (loose or tight).

Yes. I agree with this. To me I kept hearing shades of Moroder's The Chase or New Order's Vanishing Point. ... And so it sounded more rehashed or contrived than original. Mind you, that was just one listen while navigating through crosstown traffic.

I generally like this band, but this single just isn't very good.  Overly long, and no discernible melody.  Between this and the fact that it's a double album, I'm starting to think this band is in need of an editor.
