oh Pacific Rim. What a tragedy. That IS a great summer film, but unfortunately it's getting no traction. :(

Yeah it's bizarre. It's an awesome film. I haven't enjoyed a film that much since the first Lord of the Rings. There was a massive negativity campaign the past month or two against Pacific Rim -- why, I have no idea. Maybe rival studios started it. It's like everyone wanted it to fail, for no other reason than negative and snarky is the cool thing to be on geek websites. A bit like U2 records.  ::)

Anyone who hasn't, go see Pacific Rim. Even better, there's no reworked North Star in the soundtrack. ;)

It's not an established franchise based on a comic book, tv show, etc and there is zero name recognition outside of Charlie friggin' Day, and that's enough to drive people away from the movie alone.

New album will be good we will get a nugget to nibble on soon from U2.

August. I reckon we'll know when the first single will be released, if not the album, after The Edge's birthday.

I am just guessing, but it feels like U2 is cranking up the machine.

My expectation is that U2 will filter much of their material through an app that can open on Iphone and Android.

Quote from: Friday
"I've heard the new album and it certainly is a development. U2 turns corners very quickly and what hits you is how fresh it sounds. With Edge involved, there is still plenty of guitar. They asked me what I thought and I told them I really liked it. It's definitely their most exciting release since Achtung Baby."

... and Furious! ;)

runtmg, do you reckon Friday's doing his own spruiking, or U2 put him up to it?

You know, being random youtube videos, and considering the silence the band, the idea of these being real strikes me as absolutely impossible.
... But this clip actually sounds like a danger mouse chord progression. Woah... Haha.

These sound similar in vein to the leaked tracks in 2012 too....
