I say this with a wink but what if Mariana caused such a fuss about Adam's work schedule next year, with the album release and possible tour, that she starts a riff in the band?  :P

The Beatles didn't split up because John was involved with Yoko. Members of the band had long since questioned continuing together before she came on the scene. If U2 breaks up, it won't be because of a WAG, it will be because they are no longer satisfied as a band.

I know this is tongue and cheek, but it has only been a month. The couple is going through the transition that most newlyweds experience. Besides, history has proven that the band are what always hold up releases, not the women in their lives!

I'm up for her coming up with a new riff for the band.  :P

As for a rift... probably won't happen.

If Ali/Anne/Aislinn/Morleigh didn't split 'em up, no woman will.

She is. They are already planning a solo record with a common nude picture of themselves for the cover. Title ideas welcome.

Hey, it gives Larry a chance to hang with Bono and Edge. Has anyone else noticed that since Adam got married, Larry is in all the recent pics with the other two?

I take that as a good sign. Larry is all business. If he's with them it's because they are doing something else together. (Please don't burst my bubble and tell me I'm wrong.)  ;)

Completely different situation.

John Lennon was much more important to the Beatles then Adam Clayton is to U2. Plus, as U2 are in their mid 50's and a part time band now, even if they broke up outside of U2's hardcore fans it wouldn't have any impact on the music landscape. When the Beatles broke up they were still young and in their prime.

Ouch! particularly because I believe it the most likely scenario if anyone was leaving anything that is.  ::)

Sadly, I have to agree too. But she had to know what she was getting in to and if she thought things would change once they got married....

I know this is tongue and cheek, but it has only been a month. The couple is going through the transition that most newlyweds experience. Besides, history has proven that the band are what always hold up releases, not the women in their lives!

She may or may not be a problem.  The problem w/the article is him.  Newlywed lessons - what happens behind closed doors stays behind closed doors; never speak disrespectfully of your spouse; you are marrying your in-laws too; etc.  How different would the headlines have read if he had responded with statements such as - she's supportive of the band; we're in this for the long-term so a few weeks apart here or there is ok; I'm looking forward to the holidays in Brazil since it will be warm, etc.

But, they had a short courtship, long-distance, when he wasn't really working.  She probably works more than he does.  There's an old saying - it's easy to fall in love; the tough part is staying in love.  Wish them the best!
