Glad you're enjoying "Postcards from 'The Edge'"!  My favorite parts would be the 1987 entry, 1993 entry, and the 2006 entry (especially the bits about "Lemon" and how "Numb" was recorded).  My favorite line in the whole thing is actually in the 1979 entry when he starts out with "Dear Mum:  Hello, this is The Edge.  (Your son, Dave.)"  Classic!  Really, the whole piece is just fantastic! ;D ;D

That is hilarious, streetmission!  I'm laughing so hard I almost chokedon my coffee.  Do you think Edge has read this?

"Do you know what else is an atrocity, Mum? "Lemon." I hate that song. I hate that video. I hate that idiotic MacPhisto character with the devil horns."

"The Edge (your son, Dave)" ;D

The best part is, having recently watched a few interview clips, I heard the whole thing in Edge's voice.

You just want to pat him on the beanie and say "It will all be okay, Edge".  :D

That's okay, Walrus.  Nothing wrong with keeping it simple.   :D

Sometimes when you try to take in all of Edge's awesomeness, it's hard to speak.  :D

I agree that The Edge is second to none, I love the dude, but I would not want to see him do a solo album.  I apologize if someone has already posted this but James Iha from the Smashing Pumpkins attempted a solo album a few years back, and it was horrid.  Way to falsettoie.  With Corgan, Iha was awesome, alone, not so much.  I think the same might happen with the Edge, although I think the Edge is light years ahead of Iha.  Just my two cents.

Agreed, from most interviews I've read/heard, it seems like Edge sees himself as a member of U2 and nothing more or less. He seems really committed to being in a band and seems to realize he is in a great band and has no ambition to put himself forward.

Does anybody think The Edge's new lumberjack shirts are cool?  The reddish one looked kind of sparkly (on that interview they did on the French tv show).  I was a little worried for him in short sleeves at the rooftop gig... except since he's on fire maybe he doesn't get cold.

Ooh! I do!

Of course, he looks cool no matter what he is wearing. But, the flannel shirts do look pretty good on him.  8)
