I like the outro of the Paul Epworth Version better than the original version. The "are we tough enough part?" works better to end the song than as the bridge of the original.

I'm not sure yet how I feel about the repetition of the "magic marker" line in the Paul Epworth Version and the new line "to give and receive is the same thing."

Remix, easy. More groove and better ending.

The remix, but either way, the song seems straight out of the ATYCLB era to me and reminds me of WITS as well. While I can't call it great, it's still moving, and that's a good thing.

I have to admit, I like the Paul Epworth version more now.

I wonder if they'll preform the Paul Epworth version at the Oscars?
Will Bono start with the line "the sea wants to kiss the golden shore"
Will their performance end with the "are you tough enough..." lines?
Will Bono sing the line "to give and receive... it's the same thing"?

I think the best version of this song would be one that keeps the verses in order, but also has the same beat and backing vocals that the remix has.

The Epworth version by a mile. It doesn't start off exactly like Electrical Storm, it leads with the stronger verses, and the chant works much better at the end of the song.

I second that thought. Pop was a half-cooked Roast Chicken. It's soul was still pink inside. It needed to get put back in the oven a but longer. It could have been a masterpiece, but it's flawed.

I can't listen to it now without being worried I'd get campylobacteriosis.

For the record, I like the intro / outro of the remix better, but prefer the verse / chorus setup of the original.

I reckon Pop is probably better for being "unfinished"..... Especially based on hearing the songs that were reworked later. It has a rawness that overly polished and over thought work does not - and it is the sound of the last time u2 had guts and balls.
