Jo Whiley to interview Edge tomorrow
« on: February 03, 2014, 10:29:15 AM »
Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time post, buoyed up by hearing Invisible and thinking things may be moving up a gear.
I just heard the DJ Jo Whiley who's currently doing the afternoon BBC Radio 2 show (2-5) say that she's going to be interviewing Edge tomorrow on the show. She didn't give any more details so it may just be about their mutual work for the charity Mencap but hopefully she'll quiz him on the album.

it will be interesting to hear how quickly U2 switches from talking up "invisible" to talking about the album. If they only talk about invisible, that might indicate a summer or even fall release, but if Edge talks up the album, they might be getting ready for something sooner

I'm sure she will as she's a big fan of the band.
She used to have them on her shows when she was at Radio 1.
I'll be listening for sure.

We haven't heard much from The Edge during this waiting period, hopefully he'll reveal some details about the new album.

Unfortunately I'd say it's very likely he will evade all questions about a definitive release date.

Edge will give nothing away, I am absolutely positive of that. When it comes to talking about upcoming albums he is always very vague and non-committal.  Wish it was Adam or Larry that was being interviewed!

She has just said there will be "possible" Exclusives with her interview with Edge. What that means we will have to see.

He'll be on at about 4:30pm UK time Edge will be "spilling the beans all about the brand new album, brand new tour....everything that's happening in the world of U2"......

*takes gigantic pinch of salt*

I have a feeling that Jo will be pushing for answers, Edge wont be able to avoid ALL of them!

+1. Edge is usually the vaguest of them all!

How amazing would it be though if he did drop some exclusive news - that'd be a proper two fingered salute to Radio 1!!!

It's strange that the BBC would have both Bono and Edge on in the space of 2 days on 2 different stations. What are we going to learn from edge that we don't already know from Bono? I say nothing.
