This vagueness is both annoying and suspicious. They just don't seem to be definitive on anything: "well, um, summer?" " A couple of months". My bet is that they are waiting for the Fallon show, it would be a complete wasted opportunity to not announce it then. And then at the Oscars, should they win, it would get further publicity.

Got excited briefly when she said Tom Elmhurst had mixed the record...I figured she was on about the album and had maybe slipped up in terms of knowing more than she's letting on. In hindsight I'm sure she meant Invisible....I'm one of those that still equates record to album, not to a single track.

I imagine Elmshurst has mixed the new album.

Edge says the new album will be "intellectually hard and a raw, guitar driven album"

He better be telling the truth!

You might be right, in which case I do think she knows more than she's letting on and is just towing the line in keeping things secret, and keeping us all waiting. I'm sure we are very close to the release; March latest IMO. If they start touring this summer, fans need time to budget and they need time to rehearse...at least a bit!

If the album is out before Bono's estimate (summer) I'll eat Edge's hat. Mind you, there's a first for everything...

I hope so...given the 00's and the most recent songs with DM weren't guitar driven. It's time to let Edge loose.

As much as I like Invisible I really want Edge to surprise me with the album. Just really go for it, weird noises, screetching AB like solos etc.. Time to give the slide a rest I think.

YES!!! I've been thinking War since I heard them say they were going back to an early sound. Crossed fingers.

The album is done. Fallon appearance is the announcement and then all sh*t breaks loose in the best possible way!!

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but I doubt very much if the album is complete. We have consistently had false dawns & false hope as regards this album and I don't believe we will get anything in the immediate future either.

The album will drop when it's ready and I am fine with that.

Its not done. Bono has said its unfinished and unnamed so far. Tour to star in arenas.

And, all the words that Edge used to describe the new album does not describe Invisible in any shape or form.

As far as I am concerned invisible is an red (edit) version. I think they have another version.

Bono told Jo Whiley in a radio interview in 1997 that their soon to be released album was "a beautiful collection of gospel songs."
