Yes.  Can I pre-order it now?

ABSOLUTELY. I do like Invisible more than OL, but I like the direction they seem to be heading in.

Just to keep the U2 collection complete. From what I've read more than a few people did that with HTDAAB.

Same thing with Boy and Rattle & Ham. Besides songs from them coming up in my shuffle, I haven't listened to the albums themselves for years and years.

I can't believe people wouldn't buy an album from their "favorite band" that's strange to me.

Yes, because it's U2; I'll buy any album they put out! But count me in the camp that doesn't like the direction we're seeing, at least not yet. (My mind probably will change to some extent with more songs.)

Raising my hand also on HTDAAB. I like Vertigo, Crumbs and Miracle. I couldn't tell you the last time I listened to anything else from that album.

I will buy U2's album regardless.  I can't envision a scenario where I wouldn't.

I will buy it period.  I have enjoyed everything they have ever put out.  I do not see it ever changing.  They're my band!!!

I can't imagine not buying a U2 album, but if the album ends up sounding akin to Invisible it will be the first one I hesitate before buying.

I went to a music store in July 1993, the night before "Zooropa" was released.  The store played it constantly that night and gave away prizes.  They even had the album at a reduced price.

After hearing the songs again and again, I wasn't impressed.  I grew up with 80's U2, and while I missed some of Bono's grandiose vocals, I was very happy with the sound of AB.  Finally, U2 had some rocking fun songs.  But this "Zooropa" with its "Lemon" and "Babyface" - what was that?

I left that night with nothing in hand.  It was one of the first times I thought I would not listen to a U2 album in some fashion since I became a fan in 1983.

About a week later, I relented and bought the CD.

And I grew to love it.

So much so that from all the Grammy awards U2 have, I felt the "Best Alternative Album" for "Zooropa" was most deserved.  That album sounded like nothing else out there at the time - it truly was alternative and out there.

While I'm still not a fan of having both "Babyface" and "Some Days..." on the album (one should have been a b-side), my point is that even if you don't love the new album at first, it may turn out to be one of your favorite releases from any band, not just U2.

I'm not discounting the possibility that the album could contain some great songs. If you had told me when Boots was the only thing from NLOTH that I would end up holding NLOTH in such high regard I would have laughed at you. So strange things happen.

I just hope they don't go with those tragic sounding drum machines on the whole thing, though.

Oh, undoubtedly. It's hard for me to imagine a U2 album I wouldn't buy, honestly. Even the ones that aren't my favorites, I'm glad I own.
