wouldn't mind if they asked Simple Minds to open up for them.  I know they are trying to make a comeback.  Opening up for U2 could get them back to a bigger audience in North America something they haven't experienced since Once Upon A Time.  Another choice, maybe asked the Alarm since the band recently gave a congratulations to Mike Peters for Declaration.  Otherwise, I would say just drop the opening act and play a little longer would be nice.
I saw Simple Minds three times the last two years, once at Rock Werchter 2012, end of 2013 in an Arena and in june supporting the Stones at Werchter classic. The first gig, which only lasted one hour (thus comprising mostly the hits) was great, the second had a bad sound and a lazy Jim Kerr and the third time it was it bit better, but far from good, Jim Kerr lost his voice and energy somewhere between 2012 and 2013.

I'd like U2 to have the same opener, and energy Simple Minds had last time I saw them.

They had no opener and played about two and a half hours.

The Simple Minds I saw last year had tons more energy than the U2 of 360.

That list is great for Europe/US but I can't help thinking that in the great style of Kanye and jayZ Australia would end up with TPain or will. I. Am.

LMFAO .. my thoughts exactly. Jay Z was bloody awful during 360.
Love me some Kanye, so 2006 was brilliant.
Frank Ocean would be a decent opener ;)

God Imagine like a Red Foo or something.

Zing...
Well us Australians really don't matter anyways. Its just a pit stop over the bigger pitch.
So if tour starts Summer 2015 presumably in US, maybe Aus in 2017... :/ Or late 2016
