A bit of deduction
« on: March 09, 2014, 02:07:09 PM »
So...lots of speculation on this board.  Let us try to see if we can figure the likelihood of what exactly is going on with this band.

1. U2 makes a lot of money
This band isn't breaking up, especially with the state of the recording industry.   A U2 tour is worth a lot of money even if U2 isn't pulling down the album sales.  They are set the rest of their lives.

2. Invisible nor Ordinary Love set the world afire.  They were good solid songs, in the U2 mold that weren't horrible but weren't great.

3. In November, they were a song or two away.  In January, they wanted to try out material in different keys.  In February, they were working on two albums and in March no album or your till 2015.

4. Larry is becoming a respected actor, mcguinness is out, new manager is in.

5. There is some evidence that the band has become increasingly unhappy or uninspired by their work so far.

What this paints the picture of to me is a band with no direction.  Worse this is a band with no leadership.  This may be a case in which time doesn't make things better.
